A Day in the Life:

Responsibilities:

<ul><li>Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, procedures, and surgeries, ensuring all equipment and supplies are prepared and ready.</li>
<li>Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.</li>
<li>Perform various laboratory tests, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and diagnostic imaging.</li>
</ul></li></ul><ul><li>Nursing and Rehabilitation:
<ul><li>Provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalized and recovering patients, including wound management, IV catheterization, and fluid therapy.</li>
<li>Educate pet owners on post-operative care, medication administration, and disease management.</li>
</ul></li></ul><ul><li>Diagnostic and Therapeutic Equipment: 
<ul><li>Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment</li>
</ul></li></ul><ul><li>Client Interaction and Education:
<ul><li>Communicate with pet owners, explain treatment plans, providing updates on patient status, and addressing any questions or concerns.</li>
<li>Educate clients on preventive care, nutrition, and proper handling techniques.</li>
</ul></li></ul><ul><li>Record Keeping and Documentation:
<ul><li>Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories.</li>
<li>Ensure timely and complete documentation in accordance with veterinary standards.</li>
</ul></li></ul><ul><li>Team Collaboration and Leadership:
<ul><li>Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, other veterinary technicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and client service.</li>
<li>Provide guidance and mentorship to veterinary assistants and other team members.</li></ul></li></ul>

Skills &amp; Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Ability to handle animals with care, even the stressed-out ones.</li>
<li>Thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling tasks like a pro.</li>
<li>Comfortable using veterinary software for records and documentation.</li>
Physically fit to handle animals of all sizes- up to 50lbs.
<li>Licensure in veterinary technology (RVT) for the state of NC preferred but not required.</li>
