Essential Duties and Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>
Provides direct services to victims of crime, including emergency needs, information and referral, counseling, accompaniment, home and hospital visits, and assistance in filing for CVB compensation.</li><li>
Prepares safety plan with each client.</li><li>
Provides individual and group counseling on the dynamics of domestic violence and victimization</li><li>
Offers immediate support to victims during and after a traumatic event.</li><li>
Assists victims in navigating the criminal justice system, including attending court hearings and</li><li>
providing updates on case status</li><li>
Determines the immediate needs of the crime victim and family &ndash; develop appropriate plan, involve appropriate agencies and facilitate the implementation of the plan.</li><li>
Determines the legal course to which the crime victim will be subject and provide or obtain appropriate assistance to the victim.</li><li>
Coordinates with First Step Team to ensure all referrals are assigned to case manager.</li><li>
Shares 24-hour on call responsibility with other First Step employees.</li><li>
Works with law enforcement, prosecutors, and other organizations to ensure comprehensive support for victims</li><li>
Develops and presents prevention and awareness efforts regarding violence and community response.</li><li>
Remains up to date on local, state and federal policies and/or legislation regarding victims of crime</li><li>
with a focus on intimate partner violence</li><li>
Maintains statistical database and case management files. Prepare monthly reports as required by funders.</li><li>
Participates in appropriate Catholic Charities staff meetings and in-service staff development opportunities. Represents Catholic Charities to the Community.</li><li>

There will be times when additional hours are needed to satisfy all responsibilities.</p><p><b>Job Summary:</b></p><p>The Victim Advocate of Sally Kate Winters Family Services CAC is responsible for providing advocacy services to child victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers. The initial contact with these families will begin before or when the child and family arrive at the CAC for the initial forensic interview. Advocacy services will include, but are not limited to: crisis counseling, assessing the needs of the child and their non-offending family members, education on the investigative process, general support and reassurance to the child and non-offending family members, regular follow-up phone calls and/or meetings, and referrals for appropriate services. The Victim Advocate will also provide child abuse prevention education within the community.</p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><p>1. &ndash; Identify target populations of advocacy services available through the program; Establish network agreements with participating agencies, including child protection, law enforcement, prosecutors, medical and mental health providers, and child advocates; Monitor service agreements with contracted agencies; Actively promote the Children&rsquo;s Advocacy Center through various venues in the community</p><p>2. &ndash; Attend trainings, peer reviews, and obtain certifications necessary to provide victim advocacy and serve as a back-up forensic interviewer, training related to coordinated services with clients; Complete research and trainings that aid in the understanding of the various court systems; Complete trainings and complete the process of the OMS system for evaluation of CAC services and the Collaborate database system necessary for case review and data tracking; Participate in a minimum of 24 hours of specialized victim advocacy training related to dynamics of abuse, crisis assessment, safety planning, court education, victims&rsquo; rights, case management services, etc.</p><p>3. &ndash; Provide victim advocacy services &ndash; making initial contact prior to scheduled forensic interview appointment; making the child and non-offending caregivers feel welcomed and as comfortable as possible at the CAC; completing intake and victim rights information with the family, ensuring consent forms are completed for services; providing crisis assessment and intervention with clients; completing assessment of needs and cultural considerations of the clients; providing updates to family on case status, assessment of the child/family, provision of court education/support/accompaniment, assistance with accessing service, and providing referrals for services/community organizations; Educate non-offending caregivers of their roles during the investigative process and answer their questions; Maintain regular follow-up contact through telephone calls and/or meetings to make sure the child and non-offending caregivers are receiving appropriate services; Complete victim advocate synopsis of the intake/assessment/referral process for law enforcement and/or CPS in a timely manner; Provide Court Prep to child and non-offending caregivers as needed; Attend court hearings and trials to support the child victim and non-offending caregiver as needed.</p><p>4. &ndash; Take intake calls and complete assessments to determine if clients is a victim of crime, identifying what services are needed; Schedule services and provide advocacy for victims; Inform victims of Victim&rsquo;s Compensation Benefits and assist with the application process as necessary; Assist victims with understanding the court process; Conduct BECK Assessment with child and/or review information with the family; making referrals for specialized, trauma focused, evidence-based mental health services; providing assistance/referrals for obtaining concrete services (housing, protective orders, food, transportation, public assistance, etc); completing referrals for forensic medial services as determined by MDT.</p><p>5. &ndash; Assist with Multi-disciplinary Teams in each community identified within service area; Participate in case review through weekly CAC staffing, MDT meetings; Pre and Post Forensic Interview discussions with MDT members, and routine contact with MDT members; Follow-up on services identified for cases staffed at the MDT meetings; Garner a cohesive group of professionals to actively participate and support the CAC program; Assist with coordinated case management services for the client with all professional disciplines providing victim advocacy services.</p><p>6. &ndash; Participate and receive certification in the ChildFirst Forensic Interviewing 40-hour course; Conducts forensic interviews as a back-up interviewer on an as needed basis; Assist with scheduling and involving other team members to be present during the interview; Complete forensic interview synopsis (if interviewer) for law enforcement and/or CPS in a timely manner; Provide court testimony based on forensic interview when required; Participate in FI Peer Support for continued knowledge and improved FI skills as required</p><p>7. &ndash; The General Crime Victim (GCVS) Advocate position provides trauma informed, survivor-centered, culturally responsive services to victims of general crime. The victim witness assistance program also ensures that crime victims and witnesses are provided with the entitlements and services mandated by the Massachusetts Victim Bill of Rights (M.G.L.c. 258B), and those additional services provided as a policy of the program within the Middle District Attorney&rsquo;s office.</p><p><b>

<div><p>JOB SUMMARY:<br>
The Victim Advocate is responsible for providing comprehensive trauma-informed<br>
advocacy and case management services for adult survivors of domestic violence, sexual<br>
violence, and human trafficking through New Life Center's Outreach Department.</p><p>
This position has multiple locations to include New Life Center Shelter, New Life Center's<br>
Sunshine Healing Services, and in the community based on the survivor's needs.</p><p>
The goal of this position is to provide trauma-informed, survivor-led supportive services to<br>
primary and secondary survivors. The services offered at New Life Center promote healing,<br>
community, and empowerment. The Advocate position upholds New Life Center's mission,<br>
vision, and core values of compassion, resilience, equity, and community.</p><p>
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>
Supervision - None</p><p>
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<br>
Direct Services<br>
1. Provides trauma-informed advocacy and case management for survivor participants.<br>
2. Provides culturally relevant services to all survivors and their families, including women,<br>
men, children, LGBTQ+, and survivors of diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.<br>
3. Facilitates survivor support groups and activities.<br>
4. Works collaboratively with community partners to provide holistic healing options and<br>
culturally specific healing modalities to survivors at Sunshine Healing Services.<br>
5. Provides information, referral and assistance related to victim rights.</p><p>
6. Accompanies survivors when interacting with members of the legal system, including law<br>
enforcement, courts, and prosecutors. This includes law enforcement coordination if/when<br>
a survivor wishes to file a police report.<br>
7. May provide transportation to and from court hearings and other legal-related<br>
appointments when necessary and appropriate.<br>
8. Assists with victim advocacy/accompaniment to emergency medical care and/or medical<br>
forensic examinations.<br>
9. Assesses level and history of violence experienced and aids in the development of a safety<br>
plan for survivors.<br>
10. Assesses survivor's immediate needs and develops a case plan with referrals to services<br>
which align with the survivor's goals.<br>
11. Provides information and referrals to legal aid agencies and/or agencies specializing in<br>
immigration, child abuse, elder abuse, and/or disabilities.<br>
12. Documents all survivor and community services rendered in appropriate database(s)<br>
timely, accurately, and completely.<br>
13. Tracks and monitors service performance at least weekly and provides written and/or oral<br>
reports, as requested, on performance strengths and needs in weekly program meetings<br>
and/or during regularly scheduled supervision.<br>
14. Assist in other programs as needed.</p><p><br>
Community Outreach<br>
1. Participates in agency-wide awareness and/or initiates awareness and outreach events<br>
throughout Maricopa County.<br>
2. Participates in agency-wide events, trainings, and educational seminars.<br>
3. Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings to make meaningful contributions.<br>
4. Cultivates relationships with community partners and allied professions with the goal of<br>
facilitating a coordinated community response to domestic violence, sexual assault, and<br>

Agency Management<br>
1. Assist with program service delivery in all New Life Center's programs including outreach,<br>
emergency shelter and the children's development center.<br>
2. Participates in and contributes to staff meetings, staff committees, and special events for<br>
staff.<br>
3. Participate as an active team member of the Outreach Department Team including<br>
attending department meetings and coordinating services with Child/Youth Advocates,<br>
Lead Advocates, and Family Case Manager and Housing Specialist.<br>
4. Communicate emergencies, survivor concerns, and organizational needs to the designated<br>
on-call staff member or appropriate member of the leadership team.</p><p><br>

1. Participate in the culture of cooperation and collaboration among New Life Center staff,<br>
