<div>The Banner is building a newsroom that reflects Maryland in all its complexity, urgency and possibility. We're looking for a Visuals Editor to help shape powerful visual journalism across the state, with a particular focus on Montgomery and Prince George's counties.

This is a hands-on editing role for someone who knows how to move fast on breaking news, think big on enterprise, and collaborate closely with reporters, editors and audience teams to make stories more compelling, more accessible and more visually distinctive.

You'll join a visuals team that includes four staff photojournalists and another Visuals Editor, working across breaking news, arts, investigations and sports. You'll report to the Director of Visuals and help guide daily workflow for photography, illustration and design.

What You'll Do:

<li>Manage daily visual workflow for stories across Maryland</li>
<li>Edit photography on deadline with strong visual judgment and rigorous caption accuracy</li>
<li>Assign staff and freelance photographers and illustrators for breaking news and features</li>
<li>Brainstorm visual approaches with reporters and editors early in the story process</li>
<li>Research wire, archival and licensed imagery</li>
<li>Help shape story presentation, layout and off-platform promotion</li>
