Job Description</b></h2>
</div><div><p>Join the Naval Nuclear Laboratory team in a Regulated Waste Management Engineering role! In this dynamic and visible position, the successful candidate will interact with technical and operations personnel at the Bettis Laboratory to address regulated waste management needs across the site.</p>
<p>While this is not an all-inclusive list, the successful candidate will be responsible to:</p>

<li>Engage in the planning stages of testing, renovation, construction, demolition, and maintenance work that will generate regulated waste.</li>

<p>The candidate will receive training and obtain the needed qualifications to characterize waste in accordance with federal (RCRA and TSCA), state (PADEP) and local (NNPP and Bettis Laboratory) regulations and enter radiological areas. Based on prior experience and organizational needs, the candidate may also receive training and obtain the qualifications as necessary to determine the appropriate treatment and/or disposal site for hazardous and mixed waste. This can include the certification that waste meets all acceptance criteria for the selected treatment/disposal site.</p></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>

In this role, you will apply your professional engineering expertise to review and evaluate the Sitewide Air Operating Permit and its modifications, assess new or proposed approval orders, negotiate and prepare permit materials, and provide recommendations for enforcement actions. Your engineering judgment and expertise will be essential to ensuring the proper implementation of state and federal air quality regulations, dangerous waste regulations, and CERCLA regulations. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Managing or Senior Managing Engineer for a full-time position in our Solid Waste Practice Area located in either of our Maryland offices (Annapolis or Reisterstown). Duties primarily include engineering related to general civil and environmental engineering, as well as solid waste management facilities and systems.</p><br>
<p></p>
<p>
 Technical duties include:</p>
<ul><li>
Comprehensive master planning, facility design and permitting, construction management and inspection, and operations support for solid waste management.</li><li>
Preparation of project manuals and technical specifications, design reports, design drawing guidance and oversight reviews and development of opinions of probable construction costs.
</li><li>Preparation of engineering feasibility studies, condition assessments, environmental studies and solid waste management plans, and associated reports.
</li><li>Evaluate and develop project plans for site layout and grading, on-site roadways, erosion and sediment control (ESC), environmental site design (ESD), and stormwater management systems.
</li><li>Ability to develop, coordinate, interpret and/or prepare environmental sampling, monitoring, laboratory analyses, and reports for groundwater, surface water, stormwater, and soils.</li><li>
Construction management and inspection with observation and daily field reports.</li><li>
Preparation of proposals including detailed scopes of work, cost estimates, and presentations.
</li><li>Business development and marketing with existing and new clientele.</li></ul><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field.</li><li>
10-15+ years of experience in the consulting industry a plus, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in MD or the ability to obtain reciprocity is desired.</li><li>
Experience with the design and layout of site plans, grading plans, pipelines, stormwater management systems and other related civil/site work is a plus.</li><li>
Willingness to travel locally to field sites work for construction management/inspection.</li><li>
Program management, facility operations, contract administration, and technical business writing experience is a plus.</li></ul><br>

Estimated Pay Range</b>: $120,000 - $140,000/year.</p>
