About the role
As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient processing of inbound materials and refuse of various forms through Reworld&rsquo;s industrial disposal process.<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Position Responsibilities:</h2><ul><li>
Receive and process inbound materials, through the safe operation of various types of industrial equipment, such as: forklift, track hoe, skid steer, vacuum truck, tanker truck, roll-off truck, walking floor trailer, pressure washer, material handling equipment, and various hand tools</li><li>
Receive, weigh, unpack, and label containers, as necessary</li><li>
Safely operate industrial equipment to consolidate dumped refuse on the tipping floor</li><li>
Follow defined industrial and manufacturing good housekeeping practices at all Reworld facilities and within assigned work areas</li><li>
Exterior site maintenance and improvement, as needed, which includes: litter collection, painting, snow removal and ice prevention</li><li>

Pay Transparency

Summary: 
Perform duties relevant to all phases of Tipping Floor and Ash Management Building operations (where applicable). Monitor and direct refuse trucks to proper bays on Tipping Floor. Assist Crane Operator in implementation of good pit management. Ensure tipping floor is clear of obstacles and that traffic flows smoothly.
Load metal trucks (where applicable). Safely and effectively operate heavy equipment in the course of daily operations.
Essential Functions:<ul><li>
Monitors and directs refuse trucks to proper bay on tipping floor. Monitors trash deliveries from tipping floor and reports numbers and names of trucks failing to deliver suitable trash. Screens loads for unacceptable waste and fills out appropriate inspection reports.</li><li>
Assists Crane Operators in implementing good pit management.</li><li>
Ensures that tipping area is consistently clear of obstacles and that traffic is flowing smoothly. Performs general housekeeping duties in assigned area to ensure safe, clean, and efficient operation of the facility. Keeps entire floor clean and dust level low by use of water truck and front-end loaders (where applicable). Cleans curbing area of excess waste after trucks have dumped into pit.</li><li>
Follows standard safety procedures. Corrects safety and environmental hazards and reports them to supervision immediately.</li><li>
Removes the metal from the ash received from the facility with the use of the loader rake and/or magnet crane (where applicable).</li><li>
Loads and monitors ash trucks from ash management facility (where applicable).</li><li>
Operates equipment in accordance with manufacturer supplied operator's manual and corporate safety instructions.</li><li>
Performs routine maintenance checks on mobile equipment and reports malfunctions to Supervisor.</li><li>
Completes the Corporate and Facility Training Programs within the time frame prescribed.</li><li>
Follows standard safety procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards, and report them to the Shift Supervisor immediately. Reads, understands, and applies information such as, lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.</li><li>

PURPOSE: This position is responsible for the removal and disposal recyclables and dry and wet waste to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety at MOA while also providing memorial shopping and entertainment experience.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Operate electric Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) to transport wheeled recycling and trash bins from recycling rooms to loading dock.</li>
<li>Separate the waste from recyclables.</li>
<li>Empty trash and cardboard containers into compactors and bailers.</li>
<li>Operate wet waste and recycling compactor, and empty cardboard compactors and bailers.</li>
<li>Operate auto scrubber, pressure washer, and other powered machinery to clean sub-level and service corridors.</li>
<li>Operate pressure washing equipment.</li>
<li>Clean trash and recycling rooms, including sweeping, mopping, and pressure washing.</li>
<li>Empty grease barrels and tanks from restaurants and food court tenants.</li>
<li>Maintain cleanliness of service level and corridors.</li>
<li>Operator auto scrubber to clean service corridors.</li>

A CDL is required for this position. This position will require the incumbent to have experience with Front End Loaders, Roll-Off Trucks, Tractor Trailers and other heavy equipment operation. The incumbent will also be required to operate automatic and manual transmission equipment.

Position Summary 
Performs responsible and skilled work engaging in solid waste equipment operation. This position, under 
minimal supervision, is responsible for operating technically complex equipment and ensuring safety 
procedures are followed during solid waste operations. This position is responsible for waste screening 
activities, customer service interaction and may train others within this job series. 
Essential Functions 
Perform load inspections on waste materials such as Yard Debris, Construction and Demolition 
Debris and monitors incoming loads for unacceptable materials 
Operate a variety of equipment in the processing, collection and disposal of recyclables, garbage, 
trash, and/or refuse. This includes large tub-grinders, angle-blade bulldozers, front-loaders and 
wheel loader vehicles. 
Perform complex maintenance and related care of Diesel equipment used in solid waste 
operations 
Keep work area clean and free of debris to prevent damage to incoming vehicles 
Drive semi-tractor trailers hauling materials and heavy equipment (walking floor trailers and lowboy trailers) 
Assist with cleaning and maintenance of trucks and tools 
Load and unloads heavy equipment from trucks and vehicles. 
Monitor the safety of job sites and co-workers 
Operate solid waste vehicles that require a CDL

Position Summary 
Under general supervision performs skilled activities that may include operating and maintaining heavy equipment at solid waste management facilities, may include accepting and processing Household Hazardous Wastes (HHW) and may include direct customer service interactions. Incumbent may operate such equipment as Roll Off Trucks, Backhoes, Skid Steers, forklifts, powered carts, and similar equipment. Incumbent may also complete routine equipment inspections, fueling and preventive maintenance requirements;
This position will also require the knowledge of acceptable and nonacceptable waste types and familiarity with NC DEQ waste standards. This position will be working 
outdoors and may perform manual labor. The incumbent shall adhere to safety procedures at acceptance centers or landfill facilities to process Municipal Solid Waste, Household Hazardous Waste, Construction Demolition Debris, Yard Waste debris and Recyclable Materials. 
Essential Functions 
May operate large heavy equipment in the collection and disposal of recyclables, garbage, trash, 
and/or refuse 
Perform minor maintenance and related care of heavy equipment used in daily refuse processing 
Keep the work area clean and free of debris to prevent damage to incoming vehicles 
Assist with directing customers at solid waste centers or landfill 
Assist with cleaning and maintenance of trucks and tools 
Engage in safe working practices and comply with safety programs and guidelines 
Prepare daily Pre/Post trip inspections, fill out daily fuel logs 
May provide direction to temporary labor or community service workers engaged in general 
grounds keeping such as picking up trash and debris 
Report and monitor unsafe working conditions 
Monitor the safety of co-workers 
May operate solid waste vehicles that require a CDL 
May perform vehicle load inspections and monitor incoming loads for unacceptable materials 
May process HHW by separating items by material characteristics, ensuring that DOT labels are 
correctly made according to shipping requirements. 
Minimum Qualifications 
Experience: 
Minimum of four years of directly related experience 
Education: 
High School Diploma or equivalent 
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes 
Licenses and Certifications 
Requires County Driving Privileges 
Depending on the area of assignment, may require a Class A or B CDL with one or more of the 
following endorsements, H(Hazardous Materials), N(Tank Vehicle), P (Passenger Transport), S 
(School Bus/Passenger Transport), T (Double/Triples), or X (Tanker and hazardous Materials). 
Depending upon area of assignment, may require a Waste Management Operators Certificate 
(Landfill) or Compost Facility Operators Certificate (Mulch Processing) or Transfer Station 
Certificate, as required by State regulations and facility permit requirements
Preferred Qualifications 
Experience working in the waste management field and be familiar with the nomenclature of 
terms, job hazards, and standard limitations of material acceptance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
Knowledge of 
Medium duty equipment used in maintenance, transportation, and construction 
Occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to safe operation of 
equipment and practices used in identifying waste related materials. 
Basic tools used in maintenance and construction work 
Customer service methodology, and communication with customers using disposal facilities 
Basic awareness of the Americans with Disabilities Act 
Lock out tag-out procedures 
Safe work practices and hazards associated with work in an industrial job situations 
Use of the tools, equipment, supplies, and methods used in the maintenance activities 
Different material types typically received such as electronics, fertilizers, acids, or bases related to 
sorting, separating, and shipping. 
Skills 
Basic computer knowledge. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Smart Phones, etc. 
Ability to fill out daily forms in a paper format or electronic format for Fuel, and other required 
forms 
Performing pre-trip/post-trip checks on equipment, and ability to operate hand tools and small 
power equipment of drills, mowers and powered carts. 
Performing manual labor, sometimes in adverse weather conditions. 
Must be able to read labels of waste/trash to identify hazards, must be able to read signs, warning 
information and follow written instructions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Completes a pre/post-operation check of a commercial vehicle in line with FCC regulations to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety devices, gauges, and other components are in correct operating condition.</li><li>
Ensures commercial vehicles are safely operated on allocated routes that encompass roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys.</li><li>
Ability to manually and/or automate controls and joystick equipment in compliance with the FCC's safety regulations and procedures.</li><li>
Engages courteously with co-workers, dispatchers, and customers to ensure that all services are performed in a timely and professional way.</li><li>
