Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator to support our Chemical Manufacturing and Health, Safety, Environmental team in Taunton, MA. In this role, your primary responsibility will be operation and continuous improvement of the campus wastewater treatment facility. You will ensure discharge effluent and operations are within permitted parameters while supporting various HSE functions. Working in this critical utility support role at our Synthesis Manufacturing facility you will gain a general understanding of process chemistry and equipment design in pursuit of our waste reduction goals. This position is expected to be onsite all 5 business days (Monday through Friday). This position may require periodic support on off-shifts.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Operate with Health and Safety as priority each day as the Subject Matter Expert for the Wastewater Treatment System</li><li>
Continuous operation of wastewater treatment system and maintaining area to appropriate housekeeping standards</li><li>
Comprehend, review and create detailed instructions/documentation for processes related to the operation of the wastewater system</li><li>
Demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate equipment as part of the wastewater system</li><li>
Perform accurate bench testing, calculations, calibrations and in-batch sampling. Interpret key system parameters and make equipment adjustments as required.
</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate and preform compliance obligations such as recordkeeping, required sampling, reporting/submissions and notifications</li><li>
Assist in system troubleshooting with various support teams to ensure continuity of operations

<br>Under the direction of a Lead Wastewater Plant Operator(s), and/or Plant Supervisor (depending on the size and scope of the facility), the Wastewater Plant Operator II performs and plans the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of wastewater facilities and associated systems including, but not limited to, headworks, liquids treatment, solids handling, odor control, structures, SCADA, and lift stations. Under general supervision, operates a variety of motorized equipment for the waste management. Reports to an Equipment Operator Supervisor.<br>

<b>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</b><br>

Operates equipment such as automated and/or semi-automated solid waste collection vehicle; Prentis loaders, roll off trucks and refuse trucks on an assigned route; picks up solid waste at each designated stop; loads waste into collection vehicle; replaces garbage cans to appropriate location; when truck reaches capacity, transports waste to dump site; unloads collected trash; and then returns to route until route is complete; collects and removes solid waste and debris from assigned areas throughout the city.<br>

Performs daily inspection of solid waste vehicles to ensure proper working condition; inspects tires, lights, blades, fuel, fluids, windshield wipers; assists in cleaning solid waste collection vehicles; repairs on solid waste vehicles to include replacing and replenishing oil, water and lubricants; cleaning blades; reports any tree limbs, utility lines or other possible obstructions.<br>

Ensures the safety of city equipment, private property, and others by following proper safety procedures, watching for pedestrians, private property, overhead utility lines and other utilities or obstructions.<br>

Performs routine checks and preventive maintenance on equipment; identifies and reports equipment malfunctions; cleans equipment as needed.<br>

High school diploma, GED or specialized vocational training is preferred.<br>
