 We are seeking a Staff Wastewater Engineer to join our Wastewater team in our Melville, NY office. In this role, you will work within a project team to support wastewater infrastructure projects from initial project programming through construction with the support and guidance of seasoned professionals.
 
Job Responsibilities: 
Under the direct supervision of Senior Engineers and Project Managers, this candidate will be responsible for:
 <ul>
<li>Planning and design associated with water resource recovery facilities, pump stations, force mains, gravity sewers, and low pressure sewer systems.</li>
<li>Write reports, gather information, analyze data, draft correspondence, track project costs; and prepare progress reports</li>
<li>Prepare design drawings utilizing computer‐aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software</li>
<li>Review of contractor shop drawings and the monitoring of construction phases</li>
<li>Communicate and interact with discipline co-workers</li>
<li>Communicate and interact with project team disciplines to coordinate tasks.</li>
</ul>
Education and Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil/Environmental/Mechanical) with Wastewater course work preferred.</li>
<li>0-4 years of design experience</li>
<li>Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD. Knowledge in Civil 3D, ReVit and BIM a plus.</li>
<li>Experience with GIS a plus.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.</li>
<li>0 to 4 years of technical design experience in the consulting field</li>
<li>Self-motivated and eager to learn.</li>
<li>FE/EIT Certification preferred</li>

The salary range for this role is $72,500 - $85,000 annually.

The position will focus primarily on water-related projects, which can include drainage/flood control including dams and levees, potable/supply water infrastructure, and sanitary/wastewater infrastructure engineering services. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow as a professional working in a fast-paced team environment. Essential Job Functions:<ul><li>

Responsibilities and Duties:<ul><li>
Support field investigations or assessments.</li><li>
Perform design engineering calculations.</li><li>
Assist in the design of various types of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.</li><li>
Provide data collection, analysis, and reporting.</li><li>
Participate with the writing and the production of project reports.</li><li>
Work under the direct guidance and mentorship of senior engineers.</li></ul>
Required Experience:<ul><li>
BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Water Resource Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited college or university.</li><li>
EIT Certification (i.e., passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam).</li><li>
0-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction plan production, design calculations, and/or technical writing.</li><li>
Knowledge in the use of Autodesk (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil3D) or Bentley (e.g., Microstation, InRoads) design platforms is a plus.</li><li>
Experience with commercial engineering modeling software such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, and USACE HEC programs is a plus.</li><li>
Geographical Information Systems (GIS) working experience is a plus.</li></ul>

Annual Salary Range: $73,000 - $93,000
