About the Role
We&rsquo;re seeking a highly detail-oriented SEO Content Writer to join the TaxAct content team on a 6-month temporary basis. This role supports an increased production schedule surrounding upcoming tax law changes and high-demand content initiatives. You&rsquo;ll help us keep content fresh, accurate, and search-optimized across our blog and related platforms.
The ideal candidate is a skilled writer and editor with experience in WordPress, SEO content optimization tools like Clearscope, and a strong eye for accuracy and clarity. A background in financial or tax topics is helpful but not required &mdash; curiosity and precision matter most.
Key Responsibilities
<ul><li>Update and optimize existing blog posts for accuracy, clarity, and SEO performance, ensuring all content reflects the latest information.</li>
<li>Write 2-3 new long-form blog posts per week (1,200-1,500 words each) based on SEO briefs, targeting high-value taxpayer questions and seasonal topics.</li>
<li>Implement SEO best practices &mdash; including keyword optimization, internal linking, metadata creation, and content structure updates &mdash; within WordPress.</li>
<li>Collaborate with internal SMEs and the SEO Manager to ensure all content is compliant, factual, and aligned with TaxAct&rsquo;s brand voice.</li>
<li>Use content optimization tools like Clearscope or MarketMuse to analyze keyword opportunities and improve content quality scores.</li>
<li>Maintain a rapid publishing cadence, turning around assignments within 3-4 days when needed to capture trending search demand.</li>
<li>Proofread and QA content for grammar, style, and factual accuracy before publishing.</li>
<li>Coordinate with web operations and analytics teams for performance tracking and technical SEO checks.</li>
</ul>Required:
<ul><li>Experience writing and editing for web, ideally in a content marketing or SEO role.</li>
<li>Proficiency with WordPress CMS (creating, formatting, and publishing content).</li>
