EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
 This position supports the statewide ANS Program’s mission of preventing the introduction of aquatic nuisance species and containing current infestations through the implementation of roadside watercraft inspection and decontamination programs, law enforcement and investigations. It requires the knowledge, skills, and abilities to serve as subject matter expert in ANS law enforcement matters for CPW field staff. The position will manage watercraft inspection and decontamination (WID) stations, including hiring and supervision of temporary employees, and coordination with partner agencies as well as area and regional staff. Position will provide training to WID stations as part of the regulation required certification program for ANS and participate in procedure/curriculum development including participation in the WID Supervisors Team and State ANS Task Force. This position will regularly enforce ANS laws and regulations at watercraft inspection and decontamination stations and work with partner agencies to ensure high compliance rates at aquatic nuisance species check stations. This position provides law enforcement investigation planning, coordination, and evaluation services for the aquatic nuisance species program as needed. This position investigates violations related to aquatic nuisance species in an overt capacity. This position writes and reviews search and arrest warrant affidavits and warrants, deploys needed resources statewide that will provide for the safety of all involved. This position also writes and reviews court order affidavits and court orders. This position also works with and maintains direct contact with all of the District Attorney Offices and acts as an advisory witness and wildlife law enforcement expert on ANS related criminal cases. This position assists in training CPW officers on ANS detection, enforcement and investigative techniques.Law Enforcement / Emergency ServicesThis POST-certified officer participates in the work unit’s law enforcement program. Provides professional level law enforcement of Colorado’s Revised Statutes (C.R.S.), including parks and wildlife, criminal, traffic, children’s, and liquor codes across the state of Colorado. Responsible for training temporary officers (limited and fully commissioned) and ensuring the quality of their law enforcement. Enforces ANS laws and regulations as they pertain to ANS check stations including the routine pursuit of vehicles bypassing mandatory inspection station stops. Issues warnings, tickets, arrests, and investigates OHV, snowmobile, and/or minor motor vehicle accidents. Supervises others as needed performing the same duties. Generates law enforcement cases, docketing cases in the appropriate courts, making required court appearances, completing incident offenses and other law enforcement reports, and maintaining training standards commensurate with the position. Assists with the development of law enforcement operating procedures as they pertain to ANS enforcement. This position must train and certify in all required disciplines by Colorado POST and CPW policy, including but not limited to; firearms training and qualifications, defensive tactics and arrest/control, driving, anti-bias and other annually mandated training. Additionally, this position must be proficient in the use of defensive equipment (all firearms, ASP Baton, OC Spray, Conducted Electrical Weapon), body worn cameras and RAMS.Manage Watercraft Inspection and Decontamination StationsPlans, directs, oversees, and supervises watercraft inspection and decontamination stations at Ports of Entry and other roadside locations. Provides direction to personnel in their assignments before, during and after the warrant service. Coordinates and/or conducts the collection of evidence in criminal investigations, ensuring compliance with applicable rules of criminal procedure and case law. Analyzes criminal histories. Analyzes complex data before, during and after an investigation and makes decisions on the direction and scope of an investigation. Compiles, organizes and summarizes evidence, reports and documentation in the form of case files and discovery as required by law and provides that information to district attorneys for prosecution. Assists prosecutors with their case preparation, response to defense motions, trial preparation, witness coordination, and presentation. Acts as a prosecution expert witness during complex wildlife and park trials. Testifies during trials as a witness and as an expert witness as needed. In addition, this position may aid other law enforcement units across the state on an as-needed basis to help fill personnel shortages, provide specialized knowledge and for training purposes. The employee may assist with the Boating Safety Unit, Law Enforcement Unit, K9 Unit, or other regionally based work units (state parks or wildlife areas) as needed. Description of Work
The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is accepting applications for a Conservation Management Coordinator (Asst. Chief, Wildlife Management Operations Program) for our Wildlife Management Division.
 
 
The mission of the Wildlife Management Division is to conserve wildlife species and habitats and to develop, implement, and facilitate sound wildlife management policies and programs to ensure the wise use of wildlife resources by North Carolina citizens. This position is critical to accomplishing the Commission&rsquo;s goals of conserving fish and wildlife habitats and protecting, managing and enhancing wildlife populations statewide. This position administers the daily affairs of Wildlife Management Division Operations Program, including the direction of 31 professional biologists, and is responsible for the supervision of all program activities.
 
 
The primary purpose of this position is the long and short-range planning, coordination, administration and supervision of the Wildlife Division&rsquo;s Operations program as they pertain to statewide, regional, and national efforts. This position directs implementation of regional and statewide programs designed to meet the legislative mandate to manage wildlife for the citizens of the state. This includes, but is not limited to, development of project work plans, funding, budgets, species and habitat management plans, and other resource programs dealing with wildlife populations and the citizens of North Carolina. The position directly supervises regional wildlife supervisors, the Regulated Activities Supervisor, and the Wildlife Habitat Coordinator and oversees human resources management for permanent and temporary employees. This position serves as one of three Assistant Chiefs for the Wildlife Management Division. This employee may represent the Division and has decision-making authority when the Division Chief is unavailable.
 
 
Many of these activities require coordination with other federal, state and private agencies and groups and with other divisions within the Commission. This position advises and works closely with Division, Agency and Commission leadership to accomplish agency strategic goals and objectives of the Agency and the Wildlife Management Division.
 
 
The position provides leadership, guidance and support in the organization and execution of program activities. Responsibilities include developing and tracking success for strategic goals related to private land conservation initiatives, attending joint meetings with other agency and division staff members, helping to plan and monitor ongoing projects, providing technical expertise relative to overall activities, conducting regular section/project meetings to assess program status and reviewing monthly and quarterly activity and progress reports. Assesses program effectiveness and provides guidance and support to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
 
 
A Monday-Friday schedule is associated with this position which involves working 40 hours per week. This position is eligible for teleworking under the agency&rsquo;s current telework policy of one day per week as approved by management. This position has statewide responsibilities. Assignments, work and projects require monthly travel, and occasional travel outside NC. This position is based in the WRC Headquarters in Raleigh, NC (Wake Co.).

Under direction of the Wildlife Administrator, conducts inspections for wildlife activity on and near the airport in order to ensure the airport&rsquo;s compliance with CFR Part 139 per procedures identified in the airport&rsquo;s Wildlife Hazard Management Plan (WHMP). Monitors wildlife activities and habitat management efforts. Ensures compliance of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Interfaces regularly with the Airfield Operations Officers, Assistant Airfield Operations Officers, and Airfield Operations Agents in inspecting, monitoring, reporting, and dispersing wildlife activity on the airport property. Evaluates recommended activities for efficacy and implements recommended actions as needed to include wildlife dispersal operations. Researches alternative options, communicates findings, and provides documentation as required.

Overview:

TRC seeks a highly motivated, qualified individual to join our growing Pacific Northwest Permitting, Planning and Licensing team as a Senior-Level Wetland and Natural Resources Biologist. The successful candidate will be an energetic, flexible project/task lead completing natural resources field surveys and environmental documentation throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and beyond. Our practice is focused on energy generation, power transmission, power storage, utilities infrastructure, and commercial development. You can bring with you an enthusiasm and initiative to expand into markets and services that excite you. 
This position will be associated with one of our Pacific Northwest offices (Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Milwaukie, OR). We currently have an accommodating work schedule environment: Working from a TRC Office or various locations within Washington, Oregon, and Idaho is a possibility. The position will entail short-term and long-term field assignments throughout the Pacific Northwest. The candidate must be willing and physically able to travel and work outdoors in rough and remote terrain under challenging environmental conditions. Responsibilities:

This person will work with field technicians and junior staff to conduct natural resources field surveys, wetland and waterbody delineations, habitat and noxious weed mapping, and ecological restoration/mitigation projects. The successful candidate will complete data analyses and author technical environmental documentation. This position will also engage with regulatory permitting and consultations.<ul><li>
Serve as the technical resource with up-to-date expertise/guidance regarding federal, state (Washington, Oregon), and local regulatory requirements for biological and natural resource protocols, regulations, permitting processes, and common pitfalls.</li><li>
Work on multiple assignments simultaneously and communicate effectively to deconflict competing priorities and schedule deadlines. Direct team members to do the same.</li><li>
With minimal supervision, plan and lead natural resources field surveys, mapping, and impacts assessment evaluations that conform with federal, state, and local manuals and regulatory requirements.</li><li>

Prepare Joint Permit Applications (Oregon) and JARPA (Washington) for state and local wetland and waterbody impacts permitting.</li><li>
