The Art Youth Development Professional is part of a team-oriented Club staff dedicated to serving our youth and creating an optimal Club Experience. Prepare Youth for Success</div><p>
This position&rsquo;s primary responsibilities are:</p><ul><li>
Planning and implementing a variety of art programs for members of all ages, including National Arts Contests, Drama Matters, Lyrism 101, Music Makers, Media Making, &amp; National Photography Program.</li><li>
Recruiting and retaining youth for art programs</li><li>
Working with other staff in the club to help implement these programs throughout the school year</li></ul><p>
This position helps members to make appropriate choices about their education, career, social, physical and emotional needs as it relates to health and their future goals. The position also assesses the developmental needs, interests and characteristics of youth to develop targeted programs that result in an outcome-driven club experience.</p><ul><li>
Ensure programs, services and activities prepare youth for success, promoting safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of Club at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.</li><li>
Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by:</li></ul><ul><li>
Planning and organizing a range of program services and activities for members, such as field trips, program specific activities, guest speakers, field trips, etc.</li><li>
Initiating new programs with the approval of the Program Director/Unit Director.</li><li>
Promoting and stimulating program participation.</li><li>
Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests and participating in weekly Club staff meetings.</li></ul><br>

With the guidance and assistance from the Site Coordinator, PM, and APM, plan, implement and participate in developmentally appropriate curriculum for groups of children including homework and tutoring assistance, and enrichment and recreation activities.</li><li>
Direct students into safe activities and in the development of beneficial social behavior using positive reinforcement strategies and techniques.</li><li>
Actively participate in staff development workshops and other staff meetings that are designed to contribute to personal and professional growth and program success.</li><li>
Manage classroom operations, including completing attendance reports, student or program evaluations, and other reports as assigned.</li><li>
Communicate program, supply, or student concerns to the Site Coordinator in a timely manner.</li><li>
Maintain accurate, up to date records on the behavioral and health concerns, for each child throughout participation in the program.</li><li>
Develop professional and positive relationships with the children, parents, and volunteers, as well as school and program staff or community partners through consistent, culturally competent, and professional communication.</li><li>
Coordinate assistance of assigned youth and adult volunteers in the delivery of the curriculum by providing specific instructions and feedback. Report any concerns to the Site Coordinator as soon as possible.</li><li>
Monitor student&rsquo;s academic performance and attendance through regular communication with students, parents, school staff, and the Site Coordinator.</li><li>
Conduct evaluations and implement recommendations from periodic program evaluations.</li><li>
Assist the Site Coordinator with developing, conducting, and supervising events such as field trips or special activities to improve student success and the well-being of program participant families.</li><li>
Participate in advocacy, special events, or fund development opportunities to raise awareness and resources of agency services and programs for youth.</li><li>
Ensure that the program meets attendance goals by assisting with recruitment of youth and in implementing an on-going recruitment plan.</li><li>
Assist in administering a daily nutritional snack.</li><li>
Ensure work areas are orderly and clean at the end of each session.</li><li>
Administer first aid, if necessary and seek assistance for serious illness/injury.</li><li>
Implement applicable district, agency, and all grant policies and regulations.</li><li>

BuildaBridge uniquely positions creative expression as trauma healing through art-making. We serve 600+ youth annually through partnerships with recreation centers, schools, and human service organizations in Philadelphia's highest-need neighborhoods. Our pedagogical approach, the BuildaBridge Safe Spaces Model (SSM) uses creative self-expression (music, movement, visual arts, writing) to build resilience, self-efficacy, and hope in youth who have experienced trauma (directly, vicariously, and generationally). Grounded in Hope Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and the Capabilities Approach, programming provides accessible alternatives to clinical mental health systems that often create barriers for low-income families. We function as &quot;pre-responders,&quot; intervening before youth enter systems that can traumitize and retraumatize. Role Overview</b></p><p>
Hale Kipa is looking for a Wraparound Facilitator/Care Coordinator to facilitate and coordinate wrapround meetings and services. The Wraparound Facilitator/Care Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the development of the wraparound team and orienting team members to the wraparound process. The Wraparound Facilitator/Care Coordinator coordinates and collaborates with wraparound staff, families and youth, service providers, and community providers to complete the Youth and Family Wrapround plan and Safety /Crisis plan. The Wraparound Facilitator/Care Coordinator also monitors and evaluates progress to ensure the family and youth's goals are being met. This individual also needs to be able to navigate the electronic health record where all client data is stored; and have solid time management and timely documentation skills; as well as being able to communicate effectively both verbally and written.</p><p><b>

First Star is a national college-access program with the mission of improving the education outcomes for youth in foster care. There are currently fifteen First Star Academies partnered with universities, child welfare agencies and school systems across the country. The program model focuses on academics, life-skills and self-advocacy and engages our scholars throughout all four years of their high school career. First Star hosts one Saturday Academy each month during the academic year and a month-long residential Summer Academy at the University of Utah during the summer. To enroll in First Star, youth must be in foster care at the time of application, but they remain in First Star for all four years of high school regardless of changing foster care placements, adoption or reunification with their biological families. Nationally, 50% of youth in foster care graduate high school, and less than 1% graduate college. Of the foster youth in the First Star Academies, 100% graduate high school and 92% enroll in college.

<b>About the position:

Summer Academy Instructors play a critical role in the success of the Academy. The Instructors are responsible for developing the curriculum for the courses they will be teaching, teaching the course(s), and providing feedback on each youth&rsquo;s progress. The course should be aligned with the state curriculum standards and encourage successful learning practices.<br>
<br>
We are looking for one math instructor to teach during the academy, June 23rd &ndash; July 18th, Monday &ndash; Friday, 9:00am to 12:00pm. The teacher would instruct roughly 15 students from 9am to 10am and then switch groups with the other instructors, covering three hour-long periods across three student groups. There would also be a teaching assistant present in the classroom. Outside this 3-hour morning block of teaching, the position would include hours before June 23rd planning the curriculum based off student assessments that we are currently conducting and occasional evening tutoring sessions during the Summer Academy.<br>

Our ideal candidate would be interested and available in continuing curriculum development and teaching for Summer Academy the following academic year.</div>

<div><div><b>Responsibilities</b></div>
<ul><li>Prepare a pre- and post-test in their subject area to be administered at the beginning and the end of the Summer Academy.</li><li>Work with Academy Director to create a curriculum that provides at least two hours of appropriate instruction to youth Monday through Friday each week of the Summer Academy.</li><li>Provide written comments and evaluations of each participating youth, including recommendation for youth&rsquo;s continuing development in the subject area of instruction, within 7 days of the conclusion of the Summer Academy.</li><li>Supervise youth during all Summer Academy classroom instruction.</li><li>Provide academic support and additional tutoring opportunities to youth during classes.</li><li>Ensure compliance with the Academy&rsquo;s and University of Utah&rsquo;s code of conduct.</li><li>Prepare for and actively participate in staff training, meetings, and supervisory conferences, as needed.</li><li>Model appropriate behavior for youth and others including productive learning environments, cleanliness, punctuality, language choice, and personal representation.</li><li>Maintain positive relationships with Academy staff, university staff, and the youths&rsquo; caregivers and social workers.</li></ul>
