Program Overview:
Youth Villages&rsquo; Treatment Foster Care program provides evidence-based, intensive in-home treatment for youth in foster care while supporting foster parents and advocating for the best interests of each youth. The program serves children and adolescents (ages 0 to18) who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect, and may have behavioral and mental health needs.
Our parent-centered treatment model promotes positive change across home, school, community, and peer environments &ndash; all while working diligently to achieve family reunification whenever possible or finding permanency through adoption. Foster families and youth receive comprehensive support through weekly in-person sessions and access to 24/7 on-call support from highly trained, trauma-informed Foster Care Specialists.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The PRN Foster Care Specialist:<ul><li>
Carries a reduced caseload</li></ul><ul><li>
Provides services to the entire family&mdash;not just the identified youth&mdash;to build trust and support treatment alignment</li><li>
Attends 3 weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical consultation) for professional development and quarterly booster training sessions to enhance clinical skills</li><li>
Provides on-call crisis support to the youth and family (schedules vary by location)</li></ul><ul><li>
Completes accurate and timely documentation in an electronic medical record system (EMR)</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul>
Additional Information:
<ul><li>Schedule is flexible and non-traditional as it is based around the availability of youth and families served.</li><li>
Applicants must possess a current, valid driver&rsquo;s license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance.</li><li>
Community-based staff will be reimbursed for applicable mileage.</li></ul>

The Youth Services Specialist contributes to the effective operations of the library by providing a variety of literary, educational, cultural programs, activities, and services for youth aged birth-18 and their caregivers. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with all other library departments, outside agencies, and organizations for the planning and implementation of a wide variety of programs. Reports to the Community Library Manager/Library Lead.
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</h3>
Provides reference and readers advisory services in the Teen area and Children's area, or as needed at other service points; provides instructional use on library resources (books and digital) and assists patrons with inter-library loan requests; instructs teens, tweens, and their caregivers in information gathering, research skills, and digital literacy skills.
Provides friendly, courteous, and accurate service to all library users.
Develops, presents, and evaluates workshops and programs for children, teens, and their caregivers.
Creates displays for the Teen area or Children's area, and other areas of the library as directed.
Assists the Regional Librarian for Children&rsquo;s and Teen Programming in the preparation of the annual Youth Services budget, providing timely updates on the use of funds.
Collaborates with Regional Librarian for Children&rsquo;s and Teen Programming and the library&rsquo;s administrative team to prepare short and long- term goals to serve children, teens, and their caregivers.
Participates in regular team communications to discuss and develop programming themes, special event planning and participation, patron policies, expectations, issues and concerns, library communication, and community involvement.
Keeps informed about outcomes of departmental community needs assessments to identify patron needs in order to create tailored services and programs for children, teens, and their caregivers.</div>
Coordinates with community schools and other organizations and agencies in order to promote library services, materials, and programs.
Creates informational material, bibliographies, pathfinders, blog posts and/or other resources highlighting books or topics related to children&rsquo;s and YA literature, interests, etc. for the library, the website, or other public information venues; contributes to the monthly staff newsletter; creates internal procedures manuals and troubleshooting guides.
Actively encourages the use of the library and invites community members to participate in library events and activities.
Represents the library at professional meetings, activities, and conferences as assigned; prepare written reports for the Library Director about these events and new learnings.
Remains current on trends in children&rsquo;s and teen literature, programming, and culture through consortium meetings, workshops, and other appropriate seminars.
May perform opening and closing procedures.
Monitors the behavior and conduct of patrons in the Teen Room and Children&rsquo;s Area and intervene as necessary to ensure appropriate conduct.

Education and Experience:

You will contribute to the formulation and implementation of the resident transitional living plan and assist with life skills learning, transportation, and administrative duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Use good interpersonal communication skills to gain resident cooperation and resolve resident conflicts. Interact with all residents while maintaining appropriate relationships which do not allow self-disclosure of personal or social information to residents.
</li><li>Provide transportation, accompany, and directly supervise residents on outings, activities and appointments in the community.</li><li>
Guide residents in personal hygiene techniques and the proper care of their condominiums. Assist residents in meal preparation steps. Guide and instruct residents in proper housekeeping and laundry procedures; review completion of weekly chores.</li><li>
Exercise fair, firm and consistent use of behavioral system.</li><li>
Supervise the administration of medications as appropriate.</li><li>
Check each condominium to ensure residents are in by curfew, working, or on an approved pass. Document all incidences in communication log and contact the Life Skills Coach or Program Supervisor. Record accurate and complete information in the resident chart pertaining to: resident behavior, critical incidents, AWOLs, restrictions, unusual sleep patterns, etc.</li></ul>
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>
The Evening Support Specialist shall have a human services Bachelors degree (Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, etc) OR a High School diploma with at least one year of experience working with children and/or families.

Program Overview:</div><div> 
Intercept&reg;, developed by Youth Villages, is an evidence-based intensive, in-home program that focuses on keeping families together by preventing out-of-home placements or facilitating reunification after such placements, including foster care, residential treatment facilities, hospitalization, or juvenile detention centers. It is one of the first programs to receive the well-supported designation from Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse developed in accordance with the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) having been shown to reduce out-of-home placements and accelerate permanency for children. 
 
This program serves youth from birth to age 18 who are facing serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma, such as abuse or neglect. Services are provided by highly trained Family Intervention Specialists directly in the family&rsquo;s home and community&ndash;Intercept&reg; is not an office-based program. 
 
Intercept provides intensive, strength-based support tailored to each family&rsquo;s unique needs, ultimately helping them achieve lasting change through evidence-based mental health interventions, along with the development of new parenting and communication skills.</div><div> 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</div><div> 
The Family Intervention Specialist:</div><div><ul><li> 
Carries a caseload of 4 to 6 families</li><li>
Holds individual and family sessions with each family 3 times a week, scheduled at the convenience of the families</li><li>
Conducts on-going assessment of youth to determine their needs from a strength-focused, solution-based perspective</li><li>
Attends 3 weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical consultation) for professional development and quarterly booster trainings to enhance clinical skills</li><li>
Drives up to 60 to 80 miles to meet with families in their homes and communities (additional travel may be required)</li><li>
Collaborates with other providers, case workers, and courts to formulate a collaborative treatment plan</li><li>
Provides on-call crisis support to the youth and family (schedules vary by location)</li><li>
Completes accurate and timely documentation in an electronic medical record system (EMR)</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul></div><div>

Schedule is flexible and non-traditional as it is based around the availability of youth and families served.</li><li>
Applicants must possess a current, valid driver&rsquo;s license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance.</li><li>
Community-based staff will be reimbursed for applicable mileage.</li></ul>
Salary:
$80,000 - $93,000 per year based on education and clinical license<div>

Master&rsquo;s degree in a social services discipline (preferred)</li><li>
Bachelor's degree in a social services discipline (required)<ul><li>
Degrees that can be considered include: social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy (others subject to review)</li></ul></li><li>
Experience working with at-risk youth and/or families in a volunteer, internship, or paid position (preferred)</li><li>
Clinical experience (preferred)</li><li>
