Responsibilities:

The MAC Youth Coordinator will plan and implement the daily operations and activities of the MAC grant through NYS OTDA. Recruit program participants for participation in career awareness activities, tutoring, socialization activities, health and financial literacy workshops, and other youth development activities. Students will be from refugee backgrounds. Develop, plan and manage activities for refugee youth ages 15-24 years old focused on academics, health, career development, financial literacy and social integration. Recruit mentors in the community to work with refugee youth and coordinate direct activities that support youth in developing their skills in the above listed five categories. Develop programs and activities for refugee youth after school and on weekends and provide support for youth and their families, as needed. Create lesson plans and instructional activities using resources that focus on English learning and social adjustment, including engaging youth in interesting activities and discussions. Oversee and coordinate Recreational Activities, Summer Academy and other youth programming with youth staff, volunteers, interns and mentors. Gather information and help clients complete intake forms. Assist youth program staff with academic support activities such as facilitating communication between schools and families, arranging homework assistance, tutoring, English classes and Regents test preparation to promote academic success of the refugee students. Assist youth program staff in organizing social and educational activities like cooking, art, music, sports, STEM activities and holiday parties. Assist youth program staff in planning field trips and other recreational activities. Communicate with parents regularly about the activities of the program. Act as advocates for the youth and assist families use email, apps, other technology to stay notified of Syracuse City School District communications. Serve as advocate and resource for program, staff, and program participants. Monitor expenses and use of program assets. Establish short and long-term program objectives and ensure grant requirements are met. Insure the maintenance and timely completion of all program statistics and reports, including case notes and billing points in NYS BIN system. Hold weekly team meetings. Work collaboratively with Refugee Resettlement and other Refugee Youth Program staff. Work as a team member in implementation of all youth programming at Northside CYO. Transport Clients in agency vehicle as needed and maintain a safe driving record. Follow all CCOC volunteer policy and NYS guidelines for youth mentors and volunteers. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and agency policies and procedures and any other duties as assigned.</div><div></div><div> 
This is a 35-hour per week position. The candidate must be available to work after school, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed. Pay is $23.00/hour.</div>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Education:</li></ul>
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social services, child development, psychology, education, or a closely related field preferred, not required.
Experience:<ul><li>
Minimum of one year of relevant experience working with children, youth (ages 8&ndash;18), and families in supportive, mentoring, case management, or community-based roles.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for engaging and supporting youth in building strengths, resilience, and protective factors.</li><li>
Experience implementing trauma-informed, culturally responsive, or evidence-based programs, including curriculum delivery, is highly desirable.</li><li>
Experience supporting school engagement, academic mentoring, and youth participation in prosocial activities is preferred.</li><li>
Lived experience and strong connections within the local community are considered valuable assets.</li></ul>
Knowledge of:<ul><li>
Child welfare issues, child development, and child abuse prevention.</li><li>
Trauma-informed care, protective factors, and social-emotional development frameworks.</li><li>
Community-based social networks and resources relevant to youth, including knowledge of the Stockton area and local organizations.</li></ul>
Technical Skills:<ul><li>
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).</li><li>
Ability to learn case management systems, database tracking, and other software as required.</li></ul>
Other Requirements:<ul><li>
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, for family engagement and community events.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal skills, including cultural competence, motivational interviewing, and relationship-building abilities with youth and families</li></ul>
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
<ul><li>Must pass a health physical and provide a T.B. clearance.

The current rate for this position is $2,262.37 semi-monthly. Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay).
Responsibilities - What you&rsquo;ll do
This is professional and supervisory work in a treatment program for youth committed to the custody of the Missouri Division of Youth Services. This position assumes responsibility, together with staff, for the safety, personal conduct, care, and therapy of the youth in a group, implements group and individual treatment plans, maintains security in buildings, grounds, and other posts, and intervenes during emergencies or altercations to prevent escapes and gain physical control of youth.
The following tasks are the responsibility of the Youth Services Supervisor:
<ul><li>Assume a leadership role in directing, developing, monitoring and maintaining quality treatment services; provides direct supervision to the Youth Services Workers.</li>
<li>Supervise, train, and evaluate staff members of the treatment teams; supervises staff in the treatment process, assists in training and career development activities, and includes counseling, appraisals, discipline, scheduling, etc.</li>
<li>Conduct and participate in team, leadership, and performance meetings in accordance with policy/procedure; lead weekly youth group meetings.</li>
<li>Serve as the &quot;group leader&quot; in guiding the group interaction process. Interact critically and constructively with staff members to develop and implement successful treatment techniques.</li>
<li>Assist in the oversight of an outdoor program, instructs youth in outdoor skills, and evaluates the application of such skills in scheduled activities.</li>
<li>Communicate with court and community-based staff regarding each youth's progress, placement plans, and family issues; prepares reports regarding youth's progress, adjustments, and related matters.</li>
<li>Provide Awareness Supervision to youth, with responsibility for their safety, personal conduct, care, education, and therapy. Awareness Supervision is defined as the ability to see, be seen by, and to hear and be heard by youth at all times in order to be capable of swift, appropriate response.</li>
<li>Intervene in youth medical emergencies defined as the ability to perform first-aid interventions for youth including, but not limited to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).</li>
<li>Maintain security, including intervention and/or full participation in physical restraints of youth during emergencies or altercations to prevent escapes and gain physical control</li>
<li>Keep staff informed of significant behavioral conditions known about an individual and/or the group.</li>
<li>Ability to work a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime; and the ability to maintain regular attendance and respond to crises situations.</li>
<li>Transport and escort youth in everyday and emergency situations.</li>
<li>Performs other tasks as assigned.</li>
</ul>Qualifications - All you need for success
One or more years of experience as a higher level Youth Services Worker (Youth Specialist II) with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or high school equivalency. OR A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work; and, One or more years of professional experience in the treatment of juveniles which involved group or individual counseling techniques. OR A Bachelor&rsquo;s degree and 1-3 years of youth treatment experience and/or relevant certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Special Requirements: Possession of a valid driver&rsquo;s license at all times
(24 earned graduate credit hours from an accredited college or university in the specified areas may substitute for the required experience. Work experience in a residential treatment program which involved casework, group counseling, juvenile rehabilitation, probation and parole, and/or social work for youth {12-17 years of age} may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required degree.)
