About the role:
SUMMARY OF POSITION
A Site Coordinator oversees a PREP program at a single high school (9th-12th grade) intended to encourage a culture of learning by providing students with the knowledge, skills, and resources for academic and personal success. Programming may occur inside or outside of the classroom during the school day, after school, on weekends, or during the summer. Activities may include tutoring, personal enrichment, life skills, recreation, and other activities that facilitate success. 
A Site Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of programming including the supervision of Youth Leaders who work directly with students. Qualifications:
EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree, or, four years of experience working with youth in an educational setting. Education and experience can combine for the 4 years (i.e. AA and 2 years of experience). A Bachelor's degree, experience supervising staff, and prior history of successful implementation of youth programs is highly desired.

Condition of Employment &amp; Benefits:

This is a regular full-time, benefitted, non-exempt (hourly) position. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing administrative and programmatic functions that support the operations and youth-focused programming of the Youth Commission, while performing all other related duties as required.QualificationsEducation &amp; Experience<ul><li>High school diploma required, including, or supplemented by, training in office procedures, business and computer applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.</li><li>A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in social services or related field is preferred but not required.</li><li>Three to five years of practical experience in the human service field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Experience working with children in a school or out of school setting is preferred.</li><li>Must receive an acceptable CORI/SORI report.</li><li>Must receive an acceptable fingerprint report.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skill &amp; Ability<ul><li>Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MUNIS, and willingness to learn new software programs as needed.</li><li>Possess a thorough knowledge of and familiarity with modern office equipment, technology, electronic equipment, and software applications and operations as well as filing, typing and bookkeeping.</li><li>A high degree of organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Ability to maintain active certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications, as well as any other pertinent trainings.</li><li>Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and handle diverse tasks.</li><li>Ability to work outside normal business hours to support weeknight and weekend departmental programming and initiatives.</li><li>Ability to understand written procedures, and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions.</li><li>Ability to work independently, or with minimal supervision, and as part of a team required.</li><li>Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment and make decisions within scope of his/her authority.</li><li>Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.</li><li>High level of professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality.</li><li>Ability to relate and communicate in a positive manner and deal tactfully and appropriately with the youth, their families, guests, board members, Town departments, and the general public.</li><li>Support the overall Youth Commission Department&rsquo;s mission, vision, and policies and procedures.</li><li>Ability to organize and maintain detailed and extensive records for the proper allocation of space and resources for events that occur at or for the DYC.</li><li>Ability to work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to coordinate, organize, and plan with attention to detail.</li><li>Working knowledge of youth and familiarity with issues that youth face.</li><li>Knowledge of, or ability to research and identify, local, state, federal, and private programs and services available to youth and their families.</li><li>Proven experience working with youth.</li><li>Interest and ability in relating to youth and families.</li></ul>Essential Functions of the Job<ul><li>Oversee the daily operations of the Youth Commission office; provides information to the public regarding activities of the Commission.</li><li>Assists local youth and families by putting those in need in contact with available staff members; identifies the service needs of those who contact the Youth Commission, either directly or indirectly; maintains a supportive atmosphere in the office for clients.</li><li>At times prepare departmental correspondence; answer department telephone; maintain department records; maintain files and computer system. Provide feedback and program insight when preparing the annual budget.</li><li>Plans, coordinates, and leads youth programming as necessary.</li><li>Ensures the safety of children during specialized programming.</li><li>Provide outreach for recruitment and resources.</li><li>Attends meetings of the Youth Commission Board; takes and transcribes minutes; prepares notification of meetings; prepares and distributes necessary materials.</li><li>Prepares departmental payroll; maintains departmental personnel records, recording sick and vacation time, as needed.</li><li>Assists in the preparation of grant applications; assists in research of sources of federal and state grants, as needed.</li><li>Performs other similar or related duties as required or as situations dictate.</li></ul>How to ApplyApply through Indeed or email your cover letter and resume to recruiting@dedhamma.gov.The Town of Dedham is an equal opportunity employer.
