<div>DESCRIPTION
Under the direction and supervision of the Youth Recreation Supervisor, the position will assist with developing and managing youth programming at the Park District with a focus on Summer Day Camp and CARE (before/after school program). The Youth Program Coordinator is directly responsible for the development and implementation of the Park District&rsquo;s School Days Off and Parents&rsquo; Night out programs. 
Hours 
This position is full-time hourly position with a minimum of 40 hours a week. General work hours will take place Monday through Friday to ensure on-site support and supervision of programs; some evening and weekend hours are expected due to the nature of the programs. One Saturday a month and most School District 50 and 56 days off of school will be worked for direct program supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Serve as an on-site supervisor for Day Camp. Manage daily program operations, supervise and support staff, ensure child safety and supervision standards, and address parent and camper concerns in coordination with the Youth Recreation Supervisor.
</li><li>Assist with CARE (before/after school program) by managing assigned administrative duties, serving as the primary substitute for Site Directors, working directly within the program at least one hour each day to accommodate early release school schedules, supporting staff in behavior management, and communicating with parents as assigned.
</li><li>Develop, oversee, and evaluate the Days Off and Parent&rsquo;s Night Out programs, including planning age-appropriate activities and schedules, coordinating and guiding staff and volunteers, managing registration and waitlists, and providing clear, timely communication to parents, staff, and participants.</li><li>
Manage administrative tasks for youth programs with accuracy and timeliness, including preparing monthly attendance and sign-in/out forms, monitoring program forms for completion, developing camp bus schedules and calendars, internal program flyers, incident/accident and behavior reports, etc.
</li><li>Research, plan, and coordinate field trips and program entertainment. This process includes assessing options, preparing detailed plans, ensuring contract and payment requirements are satisfied in advance of each event, and communicating effectively with staff to ensure a safe, engaging, and well-organized experience.</li><li>
Oversee the annual Day Camp swim tests and Open House, ensuring a welcoming experience for families and a well-organized, efficient process.</li><li>
Assist Youth Recreation Supervisor with recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff and volunteers.</li><li>
Provide support in staffing CARE and Day Camp; fully responsible for scheduling staff for Days Off and Parent&rsquo;s Night Out programs.</li><li>
Support staff development by assisting with planning and leading aspects of annual training programs, providing on-site coaching and feedback, reinforcing expectations, modeling positive leadership and behavior, and promoting accountability within a growth-oriented team environment.</li><li>
Maintain positive and professional relationships with program families by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and keeping families informed about program activities and participant experiences</li><li>
Assist the Youth Recreation Supervisor with the brochure content creation for assigned programs. Submit and proof programs in the Park District&rsquo;s registration software and the brochure to ensure accuracy.</li><li>
Work collaboratively with Warren Special Recreation Association to coordinate Inclusion services for children with special needs. Provide on-site support and guidance to program staff to ensure the needs of children with special needs are met effectively</li><li>
Assist with Gurnee Days Activities as assigned.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Experience: A minimum of two years&rsquo; experience in the recreation field, along with successful and progressive experience working with children individually and in groups from ages 3 to 12.
</li><li>Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Recreation, Leisure Services, Education, or related field is preferred Equivalent experience in the recreation field will be considered.</li><li>
Skills: Ability to understand and respond to the needs and concerns of staff, parents, and children by providing accurate information and developing effective strategies to support program success. Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to grasp new ideas and concepts and implement them consistently across all programs. Ability to navigate websites and Park District registration and payroll software. Attention to detail and competence in preparing and distributing professional reports, schedules, and correspondence for parents and staff using Microsoft Office programs. Ability to research, plan, and coordinate program, field trips, and special event logistics. Ability to responsibly manage Park District resources when ordering supplies and submitting work orders. Ability to supervise and guide staff.
</li><li>Certifications: CPR, First Aid and AED certification required or ability to obtain within 60 days. Training is provided.</li><li>

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Your job may entail climbing, running, crawling, bending, kneeling, sitting when working/playing with children. Occasionally movement of supplies, equipment, or moving a child is necessary in which case the maximum weight that you are expected to be able to lift is 40 &ndash; 50 lbs., though typically it will be less than this.

The Prevention of Sexual Abuse Compliance Manager for La Jornada is responsible for the implementation, training, documentation and ongoing compliance with ORR Policy Section 4, 5 and the Interim Final Rule (IFR) on preventing, detecting, and responding to sexual abuse and sexual harassment; establishing a respectful and supportive workplace environment; elevating to Program leadership and ORR issues or concerns.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Prevention of Sexual Abuse Compliance Manager for La Jornada will perform duties including but not limited to:
<ul><li>Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program&rsquo;s mission, values, and philosophies;
</li><li>Establish a respectful and supportive workplace environment that cares for people, connects communities, and promotes peace;
</li><li>Provides child friendly PSA Orientations to children in care and oversees the implementation, training, documentation and ongoing compliance with Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Policy and the Interim Final Rule (IFR) on preventing, detecting, and responding to sexual abuse and sexual harassment;
</li><li>Responsible for review of grievances and grievance boxes and elevating grievances to program director for resolution;
</li><li>Actively promotes a culture of safety, proactive risk management and adhesion to ORR Policy/Manual of Procedure Section 4 and Section 5;
</li><li>Works closely with Program leadership and ORR&rsquo;s PCAN Team in providing guidance, and ensuring implementation of policies and procedures related to prevention, detection and response to sexual abuse (SA), sexual harassment (SH), inappropriate sexual behavior (ISB) and code of conduct violations including the maintenance of records;
</li><li>Responsible for establishing communication with NYAP&rsquo;s HR department for compliance with ORR background check requirements, and hiring considerations contained in ORR Policy Section 4, prior to staff contact with minors,
</li><li>Ensuring ORR and State guidelines compliance for reporting Significant Incidents Reports (SIRs)/Child Level Events (CLE) and providing consultation and guidance to Program leadership and staff;
</li><li>Lead, provide guidance and direction to Program&rsquo;s SIR Review Team, clinicians, case managers and other staff in proper reporting to ORR and CPS, including conducting staff training on Prevention, Detection and Response to sexual abuse (SA) and sexual harassment (SH); act as direct Point of Contact (POC) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) to Program and ORR Stakeholders related to ORR Interim Final Rule (IFR) and ORR Policy related to prevention, detection and response to SA/SH/ISB and staff code of conduct violations;
</li><li>Directly liaise with ORR&rsquo;s PCAN Coordinator, designated Programs&rsquo; FFS, CFS, PO and ORR stakeholders to implement ORR/IFR compliance within 6 months of Program facility opening;
</li><li>Responsible for supporting Staffing Plan creation and updates,
</li><li>Work closely with staff in reviewing SA SIRs, Risk Assessments and IMEs with SA/SH components and provide guidance to Program;
</li><li>Completing referrals to Legal Service Providers (LSP), child advocates and other stakeholders per ORR Policy;
</li><li>Serve as the point of contact (POC) for ORR&rsquo;s PCAN Coordinator regarding matters related to ORR Policy/IFR standards and report information to Program Director and PSA Review Team as needed; provide response and accountability for ORR/IFR compliance at NYAP Programs and elevating concerns to National Director of Operations;
</li><li>Ensure Programs follow proper ORR Policy related to third party reporting and maintaining privacy/confidentiality of information;
</li><li>Work to collect, assembly, prepare, present and submit all documentation required for ORR and IFR audits and working closely with FFS/PO monitors and IFR auditors in responding and complying with document requests and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs); directly attend, participate in required ORR/IFR audits and monitoring visits;
</li><li>Participate in Program staffing(s) as POC on issues related to case reports of SA/SH/ISB; and responding to all ORR and PSA Coordinator requests; including monitoring requests by FFS/CFS;
</li><li>Responsible for compiling data, creating and generating reports for PCAN and other ORR and State stakeholders as necessary; create, maintain, update and ensure compliance with ORR PSA bulletin boards, staffing plans, update video monitoring requirements and ensure documentation of video monitoring upgrades, update and provide PSA orientations when needed;
</li><li>Participate as SME during Incident Review Team meetings, create and update NYAP PSA guidelines and ORR/IFR documentation, maintain all records for ORR/ IFR audit purposes;
</li><li>Participate in public appearances and presentations as requested, and work collaboratively with other NYAP programs and staff throughout the organization;
</li><li>Initiate referrals to the Office of Trafficking in Persons (OTIP), LSP, child advocates and other stakeholders;
</li><li>Assist in the development of PSA related child friendly materials and maintenance of up-to-date posters and materials required by ORR/PCAN or other stakeholders;
</li><li>Collaborate with continuous quality improvement efforts to assure that service quality and reporting meets contract requirements;
</li><li>Perform other duties as requested.
</li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields and
</li><li>Must have at least one year of experience working with child welfare standards, best practices, or quality assurance or compliance
</li><li>Able to pass a criminal background check.
</li><li>Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines, and photocopiers, as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
</li><li>Bilingual (English Spanish). Fluency in Spanish is required.
</li><li>Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily liability coverage.
</li><li>21 years of age, valid state driver&rsquo;s license, reliable personal vehicle, and a good driving record.
