<p><b>Arts and Community Development Program Manager</b> (Part Time/Seasonal) (San Francisco Office)</p><p>California Lawyers for the Arts (CLA) is a non-profit, tax-exempt service organization that was founded as Bay Area Lawyers for the Arts in 1974. The Arts and Community Development Program includes Spotlight on the Arts, a program that provides workforce readiness for disadvantaged high school students through internships, college counseling and enrichment workshops. More than 1,000 youth have participated in this program since it was launched in 1993.</p><p>The Program Manager will recruit participants and worksites for the summer program, interview applicants, match youth with appropriate organizations, lead career development workshops, coordinate counseling services, coordinate interns&rsquo; biweekly payroll, evaluate the project, compile required reports for funders, and implement other program components as needed.</p><p>BA or equivalent degree required, as well as a criminal background check. Desired qualifications include youth development experience, knowledge of the San Francisco arts community, excellent written and oral communication skills, word processing and data management skills, ability to work on multiple tasks as a member of CLA&rsquo;s statewide team, flexibility and a sense of humor.</p><p>The Program Manager may also be invited to lead other educational and community development programs, as additional opportunities become available.</p><p>This position is part-time and seasonal, 15-30 hours/week; $25 to $28/hour, depending upon experience. Responsible for the planning and management of services and programs for children up to grade 5 and their families. Serves as manager of the youth services department and coordinates with other library departments for a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional approach to programs and projects. Duties include developing programs, selecting materials, and maintaining collections, monitoring patron behavior, and training library users, supervising, evaluating, and training staff and volunteers. This position is also entrusted with making professional-level library technical decisions. The work requires that the employee has considerable knowledge, skill, and ability in every area of public libraries, particularly library services for youth.<br>

<b>Key Responsibilities:</b><ul><li>
Serves as manager of the youth services department by directing the operations of the department, applying, developing and updating library policies and procedures accordingly.

Develops the youth collection based on trends and community needs; monitors the collection development plan for the youth collection; oversees collection development activities of staff.</li><li>
Provides professional research assistance, instruction, and readers advisory services to library users.</li><li>
Addresses and facilitates the timely and effective resolution of complex patron issues.
</li><li>Assists with fundraising, grant projects, volunteer recognition, and other special events.

<b>Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li><b>
Education:</b> Master&rsquo;s degree in library science from an ALA accredited institution. Minimum Three (3) years of experience, or one (1) year of lead librarian, or increasingly responsible library experience; public library experience preferred; staff supervisory experience strongly preferred. Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
</li><li><b>Knowledge of: </b>General library practices and procedures; public library services and programs for youth; cataloging principles; reference, research and bibliographic tools and techniques; integrated library management systems; trends in library services; municipal library operations; instructional and teaching methods.

The Program Manager &ndash; Afterschool &amp; Summer Camps is a full-time management position responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day implementation of FLIPANY&rsquo;s afterschool and summer camp programming. FLIPANY operates through an agency-to-agency model, and this position works closely with internal teams, community partners, and funders to support high-quality out-of-school time programming.</p><br>

This role supports Children&rsquo;s Services Council (CSC)-funded Maximizing Out of School Time (MOST) afterschool and summer programs in Broward County and provides seasonal oversight of The Children&rsquo;s Trust (TCT) funded summer camp programs in Miami-Dade County. This position supports FLIPANY&rsquo;s first year of afterschool program implementation and plays a key role in program setup, including child care licensing preparation, staffing, site readiness, and operational planning.</p><br>

The Program Manager ensures programs operate in alignment with approved scopes of work, licensing requirements, and funder expectations and supports required data entry, reporting, and compliance activities.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
Minimum Qualifications:</b></p>

<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited college or university required</li>
<li>Active Director Credential (DCF or equivalent) required</li>
<li>Minimum of 2&ndash;4 years of experience coordinating or managing afterschool and/or summer camp programs</li>
<li>Experience with out‑of‑school time programming, licensing, compliance, or publicly funded youth programs (e.g., CSC, TCT, school districts) preferred</li>
<li>Valid Florida Driver&rsquo;s License and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to program sites</li></ul><br>

Key Responsibilities:</b></p>

<li>Coordinate and support the day-to-day operations of afterschool programs in Broward County</li>
<li>Support the launch of FLIPANY&rsquo;s afterschool programming during the first year of implementation, start-up, including site readiness, schedules, staffing plans, and operational setup</li>
<li>Assist with preparation for required licenses, permits, inspections, and compliance documentation related to after-school and summer programming</li>
<li>Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and supervision of after-school and summer program staff</li>
<li>Provide onsite program support as needed to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality program operations</li>
<li>Monitor daily attendance, program activities, and fidelity to approved scopes of work</li>
<li>Coordinate summer camp programming in Broward County, serving up to 60 youths.</li>
<li>Provide seasonal oversight of summer camp programs in Miami-Dade County, including periodic onsite support in Florida City</li>
<li>Serve as a point of contact for parents and caregivers during program hours, supporting enrollment, attendance, and ongoing communication</li>
<li>Assist families with enrollment processes, required forms, and program expectations</li>
<li>Support family engagement efforts and maintain positive, responsive communication with parents and caregivers in coordination with site partners and the Senior Program Manager</li>
<li>Conduct site visits as needed to support program quality, compliance, and operational consistency</li>
<li>Enter and maintain required program data in systems, including SAMIS, and support reporting requirements</li>
<li>Track attendance, services delivered, and program activities in alignment with funder requirements</li>
<li>Maintain accurate program files, documentation, and operational records</li>
<li>Coordinate with fiscal and program teams to support reimbursement, reporting, and compliance requirements</li>
<li>Support documentation of procedures, workflows, and operational practices during the first year of after-school implementation</li>

Physical Requirements:</b></p>
<p>
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Exposure to extreme temperatures, extreme sunlight, noise, heights, dirt, dust, and potentially hazardous chemicals is common. Work may be performed on uneven surfaces. While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to lift, carry and/or push articles weighing up to 50 lbs.</p><br>
