<p><b>PROGRAM DESCRIPTION</b></p>
<p>The REGIONS Site Secure Program is a secure residential treatment program for up to 16 male youth. The mission of the program is to provide a home-like environment with a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, gender-specific, linguistically appropriate, strengths-based, and relationship-driven milieu for the youth to help them improve their social, physical and emotional well-being. Our vision is to therapeutically intervene in the cycle of offending to reduce the youth's risk factors and prevent them from transitioning into the adult justice system. Our treatment philosophy is one that is individualized, designed to help the youth develop a positive self-image, learn effective coping skills, experience success, gain confidence, build positive relationships, achieve behavioral changes and re-enter their communities better equipped to succeed. The high-risk youth in this program will likely have a history of violence and be of significant risk for future violence. They may be a significant risk to public safety and demonstrate chronic and persistent patterns of violent or public safety offenses. The youth may present with multiple complex needs that are challenging to treat and a history of poor treatment attitude and response. The youth may exhibit escalating antisocial sophistication. Their AWOL risk is high in context of low treatment amenability and if they elope, they will likely engage in violent or public safety offenses.</p>
<p><b>POSITION REQUIREMENTS</b></p>
<p>The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree related to rehabilitation/recreation therapy and experience in a residential treatment program. Equivalent work experience and training in therapeutic rehabilitation with children and adolescents with emotional or mental challenges will be considered. Understanding and knowledge of gender-specific, trauma-informed, culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate issues and needs; knowledge of behavior motivation and psychosocial interventions; knowledge of child psychology and development. Strong emotional intelligence; ability to interact with multi-cultural populations; crisis management skills; leadership, decision making, communication, interpersonal and organizational/ prioritization skills, adaptability, flexibility and resourcefulness. Must share the belief that people can change and individuals in need deserve quality services and an opportunity to succeed. Familiarity with relevant state and federal laws. <p><b>Training Requirements and Work Environment Conditions</b></p>
<p>Selected candidates will be required to complete and pass a mandatory 120-hour training curriculum within their first year of employment. Training sessions will be conducted during standard hours (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM). Thereafter, employees must complete a minimum of 40 hours of training annually.</p><br>
<p>The training program includes <b>Safe Crisis Management</b>, which involves both verbal de-escalation techniques and physical restraint methods used to maintain the safety of both youth and staff during crisis situations.</p>

Afterschool Activity Coordinator

<div><div>Under the supervision of the Case Management Program Manager, the <b>Case Manager </b>will be responsible for providing ongoing engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation for the youth on their individual case load. This commonly includes youth intakes, assessments, crisis phone counseling, client data collection, documentation, file maintenance, and follow-up care.<br>

Case Managers will work with youth ages 12-24 who are enrolled in Urban Peak&rsquo;s programming who are experiencing homelessness. The acuity of clients varies, but many clients will have unique goals related to mental health, substance use, education, employment, and housing. This position will ensure that interactions, interventions, and environments at Urban Peak are trauma informed and will emphasize the physical and emotional safety of youth and staff.<br>

Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by:</li></ul><ul><li>
Planning and organizing a range of program services and activities for members, such as field trips, program specific activities, guest speakers, field trips, etc.</li><li>
Initiating new programs with the approval of the Program Director/Unit Director.</li><li>
Promoting and stimulating program participation.</li><li>
Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests and participating in weekly Club staff meetings.</li></ul><br>

Participate in local, state, regional, and national Boys &amp; Girls Clubs art programs and competitions.</li></ul><div>
Health and Safety</div><ul><li>
Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in program area.</li><li>
Maintain the cleanliness of program area.</li><li>
Maintain an inventory of program equipment and supplies in good order. Recommend requisitions as necessary.</li></ul><div>
Program Administration</div><ul><li>
Prepare weekly reports for the Program Director/Unit Director regarding activities, special programs, upcoming events, attendance, and other reports as required.</li><li>
Maintains a daily written schedule. Ensures that programs begin and end on time.</li></ul><div><b>
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES</b></div><ul><li>
May participate in additional special programs and/or events.</li><li>
Evenings/weekend work may be involved.</li><li>
May be required to drive Club van.<ul><li>
(Requires valid driver&rsquo;s license &amp; three-year clean driving record)</li></ul></li><li>

RELATIONSHIPS:</b></div><div>
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with club staff and volunteers, club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions, instruct, and advise/counsel.</div><div></div><div><b><br>

High School diploma or GED</div><div>
Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug test</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Experience</b></div><ul><li>
Knowledge of youth development</li><li>
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues</li><li>
Ability to work with the public</li><li>
Ability to plan and implement quality programs specific to The Arts</li><li>
Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment</li></ul><p><b>
WORK ENVIRONMENT:</b></p><p>
This position generally works M&ndash;F, 6-6.5 hours per day between the hours of 8 AM &ndash; 5 PM, but may require longer hours outside of this schedule and occasional weekends when necessary. Work is conducted indoors and outdoors.</p><p><b>
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:</b></p><ul><li>
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods; bending and squatting on occasion</li><li>
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion</li><li>
