<p>The current rate for this position is $1,770.90 - $1,953.62 semi-monthly. Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay).
</p>Responsibilities - What you&rsquo;ll do
<p>This position is responsible for providing treatment services and ensuring safety and security to youth in the care and custody of the Missouri Division of Youth Services. Employees will facilitate treatment programming to youth (e.g., youth advocate, group facilitation, creation and delivery of treatment activities, etc.).</p>
<p>The following tasks are the responsibility of the Youth Services Worker:</p>
<ul><li>Provide Awareness Supervision to youth, with responsibility for their personal conduct, care, and therapy.</li>
<li>Monitor activity, behavior, and movement of youth both within a residential/day treatment setting or while escorting youth off grounds; performing physical counts as necessary.</li>
<li>Maintain security, including intervention and/or participate fully in physical restraints of youth during emergencies or altercations to prevent escapes and gain physical control of youth.</li>
<li>Supervise youth in residential/day treatment facilities in the performance of work activities and during recreational and religious activities; conducts inspections for health and safety hazards.</li>
<li>Assist youth with their personal issues and refer issues to the group in accordance with the principles of the program. Observe and keep staff informed daily of significant behavioral conditions known about an individual and/or the group.</li>
<li>Implement group and individual treatment plans.</li>
<li>Maintain professional boundaries, modeling a reasonable, respectful, and professional demeanor at all times. Interact positively with youth, families, co-workers, management, and the public.</li>
<li>Prepare reports regarding each client's adjustment and progress; maintain youth records.</li>
<li>Dispense medications to youth. Intervene in youth medical emergencies defined as the ability to perform first-aid interventions for youth including, but not limited to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).</li>
<li>Transport and escort youth in everyday and emergency situations.</li>
<li>Work on shifts and attend mandatory meetings during the evening, overnight, or daytime hours as assigned by the supervisor and respond to facility emergencies. Report all hours worked and absences accurately and in accordance with attendance policies and facility guidelines. Log work time daily in accordance with policy and submit timesheets to supervisor as directed.</li>
<li>Employees may also assist in the educational program.</li>
<li>Performs other tasks as assigned.</li>
</ul><p><i>Awareness Supervision is defined as the ability to see, be seen by, and to hear and be heard by youth at all times in order to be capable of swift, appropriate response.</i></p>
<p><b>Knowledge, skills &amp; abilities:</b></p>
<p>Knowledge of individual and group behavior. Knowledge of child development and the role of the family. Knowledge of the causes of juvenile delinquency and current methods of youth treatment. Ability to work with youth and family members. Ability to foster the cooperation of youth in the treatment process. Ability to physically respond appropriately to work situations or emergencies. Ability to learn verbal and physical crisis intervention/de-escalation techniques and emergency treatment procedures. Ability to transport youth and travel as necessary.</p>
Qualifications - All you need for success
<p>Sixty or more earned credit hours from an accredited college or university with a minimum of six earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work. <b>OR</b> 2-4 years of relevant experience.</p>
<p><i>(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for a maximum of three years of the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year.)</i></p>
<p><i>Lack of post</i><i>‐</i><i>secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.</i></p>

Program Overview:
</b></p><p></p><p>In partnership with Tennessee's Department of Children's Services (DCS), Youth Villages provides family-centered, strength-based services to youth from birth to age 18 through the Family Service Worker (FSW) program. Focused on delivering case management services, custodial families are referred by other DCS program areas, juvenile courts, or self-referral. Staff provide on-call crisis support, identify services and resources tailored to each family&rsquo;s unique needs, and utilize formal and informal assessments for case planning. Goals include increasing stability, strengthening relationships, building self-sufficiency, and enhancing well-being and permanency.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
</b></p><p></p><p>The Family Service Worker:</p><ul><li><p>
Carries a caseload of 15 to 20 cases</p></li><li><p>
Serves as a youth's guardian and must be aware of DCS policies that guide care and services</p></li><li><p>
Creates and monitors permanency plans so that adequate services and assistance are provided to youth and families</p></li><li><p>
Delivers services in the family's home or wherever they need us (school, court, etc.)</p></li><li><p>

<p>The YSB has a full-time position open providing services to at-risk youth, grades 6-12, and to all Jay County youth who may not feel safe in their home. Applicant must possess a high school diploma. Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or other directly related human service field is preferred. Applicant must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver&rsquo;s license. Applicant should be passionate about giving back to the community, have the ability to effectively tutor middle school/high school age youth, and be able to maintain a flexible work schedule. EOE.</p><ul><li>Complete and maintain all necessary documentation and paperwork for youth and families enrolled in KARSS Program. Including Intake, Discharge, Follow-up, Plan for Service, Consent for Release of Confidential Information, Transportation consents, Quarterly Reports, Evaluations, etc., as directed by immediate supervisor, and meeting accreditation criteria.</li><li>Maintain appointments with youth daily or as often as schedule will permit. Meet with the family as needed, but at least monthly, with appointments set up one week in advance.</li><li>Organize, schedule, transport to and from, and assist youth with community service activity. Introduce youth to and help them to connect with positive members of the community.</li><li>Provide youth with academic assistance through tutoring and helping them with homework, as needed, to insure improved academic success.</li><li>Coordinate services for youth and family in program including being a liaison for courts, probation, and schools. Dauphin County Children &amp; Youth Services is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Caseworker 1. </b>The Caseworker 1 performs social service and case management supportive services to children, youth, and families, and others to assist them in attaining a more satisfactory social, economic, emotional, or physical adjustment. The work assigned is limited in scope and difficulty, and is performed under close supervision, but as knowledge and skills are acquired, more latitude in judgment and decision making is permitted.
