Seasonal Golf Course Grounds Worker

Overview
Join the City of Center as a Seasonal Golf Course Grounds Worker and help maintain the beauty, safety, and playability of Square Butte Creek Golf Course. This seasonal position runs May through October and is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor work, takes pride in a job well done, and wants to help keep one of Center’s valued community spaces looking its best.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, and trimming to keep fairways, greens, and surrounding areas in top condition
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as aerating, fertilizing, and planting
• Assist with irrigation system management by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure optimal water coverage
• Maintain turf health through lawn care practices like fertilization, aeration, and overseeding
• Support general gardening activities including planting flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance course aesthetics
• Conduct regular inspections of the course grounds to identify and address maintenance needs promptly
• Collaborate with team members to execute landscaping projects that improve course appearance and functionality

Requirements

• Prior experience or interest in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is preferred but not required; training will be provided
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and basic lawn care techniques is a plus
• Strong physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards learning new skills
• Basic understanding of landscaping or gardening practices is advantageous but not mandatory
• Must be reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
