Makray Memorial Golf Club is seeking dedicated, detail-oriented individuals to join our Turf Management team for the upcoming season. Position Overview

• Status: Seasonal Full-Time
• Compensation: $15.00 – $15.25 per hour (Starting)
• Weekday Hours: Monday – Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Weekend Hours: 5:00 AM – 9:00 AM
• Flexibility: We offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate personal commitments while meeting the needs of the course.

The Work

You will be responsible for all aspects of managing and grooming a high-end golf course. This is a comprehensive role where no two days are exactly the same. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Turf Management: Mowing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs using specialized equipment.
• Course Detailing: Bunker raking, string trimming, and cup cutting.
• Landscaping: Planting, mulching, and maintaining ornamental areas around the clubhouse and course.
• Project Work: Assisting with irrigation repairs, drainage installation, and sodding.

Physical Requirements

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, candidates must meet the following physical criteria:

• Endurance: Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for 8 consecutive hours.
• Strength: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Mobility: Frequent walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
• Environmental Resilience: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, light rain, and early morning dew.
• Sensory: Ability to operate motorized equipment safely and maintain a high level of situational awareness regarding golfers and coworkers.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Reliability: Must have dependable transportation and the ability to consistently arrive for early morning shifts (5:00 AM start).
• Team Player: A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively within a large crew.
• Eye for Detail: A commitment to maintaining the aesthetic and playability standards of a top-tier facility.
• Experience: Prior experience in landscaping or golf course maintenance is a plus, but we are willing to train candidates with a strong work ethic.
