Position Summary:
We are looking for a creative, organized, and proactive storyteller to capture and share the energy of our summer camps, voted #1 by the community for 15 consecutive years. This role is ideal for someone who loves photography, social media, and working in a fast-paced, kid-focused environment, You'll play a key role in helping families feel connected to their campers' daily experiences. We have two camps, our Specialty Camp located on-site at the Weinstein JCC and our Camp Hilbert located in Goochland Co.

Key Responsibilities:
- Capture high-quality photos and videos of daily camp activities (smartphone or DSLR)
- Create engaging social media content, primarily on Instagram and Facebook
- Own and produce a weekly "Last Week at Camp" recap social series highlighting camper experiences and programming
- Write clear, engaging captions and short-form content for social and email
- Coordinate with the Marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment
- Actively move throughout camp (indoors/outdoors) to capture content in real time across multiple program areas
Qualifications:
- Strong photography skills and visual storytelling ability (required). Portfolio or samples of photography/social media work required
- Excellent writing skills for social media and email communication
- Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook
- Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage priorities independently
- Positive, flexible attitude and comfortable interacting with children in a camp setting
- Experience with children (camp, babysitting, volunteering) is a plus
- Familiarity with Photoshop, Lightroom, or Canva is a bonus
- Background in coursework in communications, media, marketing, or education is helpful but not required
- Comfortable working outdoors in summer conditions (heat, humidity, walking between locations)
Position Details:
- On-site, Camp Hilbert - Goochland County, part-time seasonal role (20-25 hours/week)
- Duration: Approximately 11-12 weeks (late May through August 10)
- Start date: Week of May 25 (onboarding), with camps beginning the week of June 1
- Compensation: $15-$18/hour (based on experience)
- Role is primarily marketing-focused, with limited involvement in camp operations but an expectation to step in if needed.
- Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in summer conditions, walking throughout the day, and engaging with campers and staff
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
