Full-Time Seasonal Ground Maintainer Job Description:

The Grounds Maintainer will be responsible for maintaining and improving all municipally owned outdoor facilities. Basic duties include but are not limited to inspecting and clean parks, playgrounds, courts, facilities and equipment on a daily basis according to seasonal needs, sports schedules, and priorities from supervisor.

Responsible for mowing of athletic fields and grass on municipally owned properties and other turf maintenance including brush-hogging and over-seeding. Responsible for general maintenance tasks including leaf collection, tree pruning, brush cutting, watering and weed removal. Perform daily maintenance, cleaning, and storing of equipment including changing of oil, belts and filters, greasing, and sharpening blades. Perform landscape enhancements including planting, mulching and other beautification projects. Perform other related duties as required. Skills Required:
Valid driver’s license in good standing. Must be able to drive heavy equipment.

Understand directions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Must be familiar with the operation of push movers, trimmers, blowers, riding mowers, and four wheel drive vehicles including light truck, dump truck, tractor, field grooming practices and machines, aerators, top dressers, line painting machines, and any and all park maintenance equipment procured for use by the Department. Ability to work as an effective member of a team. Ability to pass a fit for duty physical exam.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
