Full Job Description:

The Retail Sales Associate/Cashier is a people person and enjoys helping people by helping to provide a positive retail shopping experience.

Retail Sales Associate/Cashier Responsibilities:

The Retail Sales Associate assists with processing incoming donations. This includes sorting, processing, pricing and displaying a wide variety of items in accordance with our mission and standards. The Retail Sales Associate also works with volunteers within the department and collaborates with team members to ensure that all areas of the store are kept clean and stocked to create a welcoming shopping experience for our customers.

The Cashier responsibilities involve greeting customers, operating the POS system, collecting payment, handling cash, providing correct change, providing customer service, and other duties as required.

Position Type: Part-time

Average Hours: Approx. 18-24 hours per week

Starting Wage: $12.50 per hour

Job Qualifications:

Able to work at least 2 of the days we are open during store hours (Tuesday 11-6, Thursday 11-6, Friday 9-3 and Saturday 9-3) We rotate Saturdays off.

● Provide prompt and courteous customer service
● Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
● Help maintain a clean and inviting store and stockroom
● Communicates in a friendly and respectful manner

● Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and complete in a responsible amount of time
● Ability to actively work together with coworkers to achieve daily and weekly tasks and goals for the store
● Demonstrates effective and productive use of time
● Approaches work with a willingness to learn and be open new ideas

Education and Experience:

● High School Diploma or equivalent
● Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
● Ideal candidate would be able to speak to and support our mission of reuse & recycling

Physical Requirements:

● Must be able to lift 50lbs
● Position can be physically demanding, including but not limited to standing for long periods, lifting, bending, stretching, reaching, and carrying heavy items
