Seasonal School Age Camp Leader

You will be instrumental in delivering engaging lessons, managing classroom activities, and ensuring a safe, inclusive space for all participants.

This paid position is perfect for energetic individuals passionate about education, childcare, and working with children during the summer months.

This position would be a great fit for a college student or teacher/teacher's aide looking for temporary summer employment. Schedule is Monday thru Friday from 7am to 1pm and starts May 21, 2026 and ends August 8, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development
• Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies
• Foster a safe and welcoming environment by maintaining classroom discipline and ensuring safety protocols are followed
• Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress and daily activities

Requirements

• Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, childcare, or camp settings preferred
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
• Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Ability to pass a complete background check, including fingerprinting
• Experience working with children with special needs or in special education is a plus
• Ability to engage children through weekly themes with fun, engaging workshops and projects
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards working with students of all backgrounds
