Seasonal Sugar Sampler

The Korbel Vineyard and Winemaking team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Sugar Sampler to support vineyard sampling during the harvest season. This part-time, seasonal role reports to the Viticulturist/Grower Relations Representative and runs approximately from July through October. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the wine industry while working outdoors in the beautiful vineyards of the Russian River Valley and Lodi region. A company vehicle and ATV are provided for sampling duties. Schedule flexibility is required based on harvest timing, including early mornings.

Key Responsibilities

· Collect grape berry and cluster samples to monitor maturity, including Brix and pH measurements

· Assist with crop estimation by collecting cluster counts and bunch weights

· Travel to vineyard sites, including regular trips to the Lodi region (1–2 days per week)

· Deliver collected samples to the winemaking department in a timely manner

· Accurately record and enter sampling data

· Support daily vineyard operations and assist Grower Relations as needed

· Maintain a professional presence when interacting with growers and the public

· Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines

· Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

· Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Enthusiasm for learning about vineyard operations and the wine industry

· Ability to work in outdoor vineyard conditions, including heat, cold, and uneven terrain

· Strong organizational and communication skills

· Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)

· Ability to read maps and navigate vineyard locations

· Comfortable working early mornings and flexible hours during harvest

· Ability to safely operate vehicles and basic agricultural equipment

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

· Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

· Ability to read, write, and speak English

· Degree in Viticulture, Agriculture, or a related field preferred

· Previous vineyard or agricultural experience

· Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

· Ability to walk on uneven terrain for extended periods

· Ability to work in varying weather conditions

· Repetitive lifting, bending, and carrying
