Second Shift - Machine Mechanic

Job Summary
The machine mechanic service engineer position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Teach mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Follows and ensures good manufacturing practices at all times
  • Follows and adheres to the company’s safety program
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Proven industrial mechanic experience within a manufacturing facility environment.
  • Strong electrical experience including working with industrial electricians on low voltage and high voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with schematics, control systems (PLCs), HVAC/R systems, hydraulics, and welding techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance of manufacturing equipment using precision tools and measurement instruments.
  • Knowledge of CMMS software for scheduling maintenance tasks and recording work performed.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams effectively.
  • Previous experience in field service roles or military background is a plus for demonstrating analysis skills and discipline in safety procedures. Pay: $25.77 - $38.00 per hour
