    POSITION TITLE: Second Shift Maintenance

    POSITION GOAL: Maintain the safety and efficiency of the building by performing maintenance tasks, receiving, distributing and controlling inventories, and supporting the staff and students in a positive way.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain the safety and efficiency of the building and grounds to provide a secure environment for students, faculty and staff on a daily basis.

    • Operate and monitor the efficiency of the building HVAC system.

    • Perform duties required for the building preventive maintenance system.

    • Provide support for use of facilities as directed.

    • Respond to emergency calls related to building security.

    • Assist in cafeteria operations as required.

    • Perform general custodial and maintenance tasks in support of instructional program.

    • Receive, distribute, control and maintain building inventory to include, but not limited to, building supplies and materials as directed.

    • Assist with district maintenance projects as requested.

    • Perform a daily inspection of building relative to housekeeping contract.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.

    • High School diploma or equivalent.

    • Two years’ experience in similar position.

    • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and safe driving record.

    • Ability to perform minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry work.

    • Ability to understand and carry out instructions using common-sense problem solving when necessary.

    • Submission of PA School Personnel Health form.

    • Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.

    • This position description does not express or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the incumbent in this position. The employee will be required to perform any other position-related duties as requested by the supervisor.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    • 12 months, 8 hours per day.
    • Starting at $22.50 per hour; Salary and benefits according to the negotiated agreement between the Board of School Directors and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 384.
    • According to the School District Policy Manual (available online at www.ojrsd.com).
