Job Overview

Responsibilities

- Design engaging laboratory experiments and dissections to enhance hands-on learning experiences while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Incorporate learning technology tools to create interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment conducive to active learning, behavior management, and student engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and educational initiatives to improve overall science education quality.
- Mentor students individually or in small groups through tutoring sessions or academic advising to foster their interest in science careers and higher education pathways.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Proven classroom experience teaching secondary science subjects with a focus on chemistry.
- Strong knowledge of chemistry topics including organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, cell biology, and molecular biology.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as dissection procedures and microbiological research laboratory experience.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies for secondary education.
- Excellent communication skills for effective instruction and collaboration with students, parents, and staff.
- Experience working with diverse learners, including special education students or those requiring differentiated instruction.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an inclusive learning environment.
