POST: Secondary Teacher of Geography (Ability to Teach BTEC Travel & Tourism) at Safa Community School, Dubai.

Responsibilities
- Teach across the age and ability range (GCSE and A Level).
- Plan and prepare courses and lessons; set, mark and assess work in line with school policy.
- Use data to inform teaching, monitor and track student progress, and implement timely interventions.
- Prepare students for public examinations, record and report assessments, and attend related meetings.
- Communicate and consult with parents, including writing reports.
- Attend Parents' Evenings and Open Evenings.
- Maintain good order and discipline in the classroom.
- Participate in departmental meetings, Open Evenings, and shape departmental policy and practice.
- Lead curricular initiatives, programme development, and CPD arrangements.
- Collaborate with support teachers and co ordinate teams.
- Take responsibility for monitoring the support of a beginning teacher, where appropriate.
- Set work for classes with known absences and for absent colleagues if required.
- Own a designated area of the curriculum, administration or curriculum innovation project.
- Carrying out other tasks reasonably directed by the Head of Department.
- Familiarise with the DSIB inspection framework and expectations of outstanding teaching and learning in the UAE.
- Support UAE initiatives and cultural expectations.
Candidate Profile
- Hold relevant qualifications.
- Have experience teaching in British Curriculum schools, at IGCSE and A Level.
- Be enthusiastic about Geography and able to convey this enthusiasm to students.
- Understand assessment and examination requirements for KS3, KS4 and KS5.
- Be an outstanding teacher, demonstrating excellent practice and student progress.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Actively keep up to date with developments in the subject.
- Be willing to develop professionally, taking opportunities for training and career progression.
