Orgro is seeking to hire a Systems Manager to join our diverse engineering support services in fulfilling our military contracts that provide independent quality assessments in the development of computer programs that will be critical to the defense of the United States and Foreign Military sales.

Our ideal candidate will be performing an array of responsibilities and duties to support the United States Navy with their AEGIS TECHREP program under Engineering Support Services (ESS). You will possess the ability to focus on software/system verification, product validation, and technical documentation by working across the engineering lifecycle, ensuring test artifacts are clear, traceable, and actionable.

Position Summary

The Systems Engineer I will provide entry-level engineering support to the AEGIS TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE (TECHREP) team under the Navy ESS contract. This role supports lifecycle engineering activities including system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation for complex Navy combat and control systems.

This position is ideal for candidates with foundational experience in systems engineering, test engineering, or naval/DoD environments seeking to grow within a structured ESS labor category while supporting mission-critical AEGIS capabilities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide entry-level systems engineering support for AEGIS combat system components and associated subsystems
  • Assist in system integration, verification, validation (V&V), and testing activities in lab and operational environments
  • Execute test procedures, collect system performance data, and support analysis of results
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networked system issues under guidance of senior engineers
  • Support installation and checkout of system updates, patches, and configuration changes
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including:
  • Test procedures
  • Test reports and discrepancy reports
  • Technical manuals and system descriptions
  • Interface with TECHREPS, Navy stakeholders, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to support system readiness
  • Track system defects, configuration changes, and test results using approved tools (e.g., JIRA, DOORS, Confluence)
  • Assist with compliance activities related to cybersecurity (RMF, NIST 800-53) and system accreditation requirements
  • Participate in Agile-based workflows and team coordination activities

Minimum Qualifications (ESS Labor Category – Systems Engineer I)

  • Active Secret Clearance required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline
  • (Relevant technical experience may be considered in lieu of degree per contract guidelines)
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, test engineering, or technical support
  • Basic knowledge of:
  • Systems engineering lifecycle processes
  • Linux and/or Windows operating environments
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, system connectivity)
  • Ability to follow established engineering processes, test plans, and procedures
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Must be able to work full-time onsite in Mount Laurel, NJ

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy or DoD systems, particularly AEGIS or combat systems
  • Familiarity with verification & validation (V&V) methodologies
  • Exposure to shipboard systems, control systems, or networked defense platforms
  • Experience with test execution, system troubleshooting, or integration environments
  • Understanding of RMF / NIST 800-53 cybersecurity frameworks
  • Experience using engineering and program tools such as:
  • JIRA, Confluence
  • DOORS or requirements management systems
  • Prior military service, especially Navy or engineering-related roles

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
