Position Summary
DX Xpress Inc. is seeking an experienced and dedicated Security & Compliance Specialist to lead our Security department. This mid-level management role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's security and regulatory compliance programs, with a primary focus on C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism). The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can manage a small team, liaise with government agencies, and foster a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and develop a small team within the Security & Compliance department.
- Manage and maintain the company's C-TPAT certification, including preparation for validations, audits, and ongoing compliance activities.
- Oversee the FAST (Free and Secure Trade) program participation and ensure driver eligibility and compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other government agencies.
- Conduct and coordinate internal security audits to assess vulnerabilities and ensure regulatory alignment.
- Manage the employee and driver vetting process, including background screenings, credentialing reviews, and ongoing monitoring.
- Develop, implement, and update company-wide security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Design and deliver security training and awareness programs for employees at all levels.
- Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, documentation, corrective action, and reporting.
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update internal programs to maintain compliance.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in security, compliance, or a closely related role within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Demonstrated experience with C-TPAT validation processes and program management.
- Familiarity with the FAST Program and its requirements for commercial drivers.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and procedures.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred given cross-border operational environment).
- Prior experience with CBP-regulated cross-border freight or trade compliance.
- Experience developing and delivering security awareness training programs.
- Familiarity with ISO security or quality management standards.
