Position Summary
The Director of Security is responsible for the implementation of Tarian company security initiatives. This position is accountable for
providing exceptional security operations for hotel staff and guests.
Responsibilities
-
Responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive security operations for the property
-
Serving as the primary point of contact for the security department
-
Provide exceptional customer service to residents and guests.Â

Provide training on security operations and tasks to the security officers and hotel managers
-
Manage officer scheduling and accurately report hours to payroll
-
Coordinate and conduct security drills in accordance with operational standards
-
Answer calls professionally and assist callers with security services
-
Receive and process incoming and outgoing shipments and or mail/packages
-
Monitor lobby traffic and alert security team to potential threats or concerns
-
Conduct special investigation into internal issues such as theft, vandalism, etc.

Maintain logbooks for visitors, contractors, keys, elevators, incident reports, daily activities
-
Respond to and provide leadership during emergencies and incidents

Provide a safe and secure environment for residents and guests
-
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
-
Previous experience in a fast-paced hospitality industry, 5 years minimum
-
Previous experience as a Loss Prevention Officer and or Manager preferred
-
Previous experience as a manager, 2 years minimum
-
Strong interpersonal skills, as this job requires frequent interaction and communication with building residents and guests

Ability to develop and manage successful business relationships with clients and prospective clients.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Conceptual and critical thinking skills and the ability to present ideas in a clear and compelling manner with attention to detail.

Proficiency with computers as well as word processing, data management, and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Office productsÂ
-
Proficiency with Building Link preferred but not required
-
Demonstrated ability to independently interpret and promote corporate policies and procedures
-
Current and valid driver license and ability to meet the company's driving requirements
-
Ability to perform duties while maintaining a high degree of judgment, discretion, and confidentiality

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work hours will vary depending on assignments, client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the 7 days of the week, depending on the needs of the business. The work environment may be fast-paced and stressful or may also be quiet and slow-paced. All environments and pace of work will require alertness and ability to perform under pressure.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.
