Pay Rate: $16–$20 per hour
Event Dates: April 23–25, 2026

Additional Shifts: Limited opportunities available before and after the event to support load‑in and load‑out operations.

Position Overview

Security Event Staff will support a major national event in downtown Pittsburgh during the NFL Draft. Personnel will provide a strong security presence across multiple zones, including fan entry points, pedestrian areas, venue perimeters, and high‑traffic activation spaces. This role requires professionalism, situational awareness, and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct standing post assignments at designated entry points, walkways, and event zones.

  • Perform roving patrols throughout the venue to identify safety concerns, suspicious activity, or unauthorized access.
  • Execute bag checks and screening procedures in accordance with event security protocols.
  • Monitor and secure all gates, ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
  • Provide crowd management support, including line control and guest guidance.
  • Respond to incidents professionally and escalate issues to supervisors as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a firm security posture.
  • Support load‑in and load‑out operations as assigned (optional pre/post‑event shifts).
  • Follow all safety, emergency, and communication procedures established by event leadership.

Qualifications

  • Prior event security, customer service, or public‑facing experience preferred.

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanor.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work all required event dates (April 23–25).
  • Ability to follow instructions, maintain situational awareness, and work in a team environment.
  • Must pass any required background checks or event‑specific screening.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Shifts will vary across morning, afternoon, and evening hours.

  • Work will take place in downtown Pittsburgh across multiple NFL Draft venues and fan experience zones.
  • Staff must be prepared for large crowds, high‑energy environments, and extended periods on foot.

Compensation

  • $16–$20 per hour, based on experience and assignment.

  • Additional hours may be available for pre‑event setup and post‑event breakdown.
