Security Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and vigilant Security Manager to oversee the safety and security operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will lead security personnel, develop security protocols, and ensure the protection of personnel, property, and information. This role requires strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of security systems, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies. The Security Manager will play a critical role in maintaining a secure environment through proactive measures and strategic planning.

Half of the hours worked would be remote and the other half onsite. Some weeks more on site than others. Sites are in Cambridge and the Greater Boston area.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate security personnel to ensure effective coverage across all facilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor security policies and procedures aligned with organizational needs
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities
• Manage incident response, including conflict management, loss prevention, and emergency situations
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or emergencies
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
• Provide training to security staff on conflict resolution, and other emergency response techniques
• Maintain detailed records of incidents, patrols, and security activities for reporting purposes

Requirements

• Proven experience in security management or law enforcement roles
• Background in military service or security-related fields is a plus
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and decisively
• Strong communication skills for coordination with internal teams and external agencies
• Knowledge of legal regulations related to security operations and privacy laws
• A vehicle is required
• Clean CORI and absolutely no felonies.

Pay: $22.50 - $25.00 per hour
