Position Summary
The Security Officer plays a vital role in upholding the safety, security, and privacy standards of a luxury hotel environment. This role includes safeguarding the property, team members, and guests while providing discreet and professional escort services for high-profile and VIP guests. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional judgment, a calm demeanor, and a guest-first mindset while maintaining the highest level of discretion and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
VIP & Guest Security

Escort high-profile and VIP guests to and from the hotel, ensuring privacy and safety at all times.

Coordinate private and secure access routes in partnership with the Front Office and Valet teams.

Maintain a polished, composed presence and uphold confidentiality standards at all times.
Hotel Safety & Surveillance

Conduct regular patrols of all guest areas, back-of-house spaces, and hotel perimeters to ensure security standards are maintained.

Monitor all surveillance and alarm systems to detect unauthorized activity or potential hazards.

Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies including fire alarms, disturbances, accidents, or medical situations.
Incident Management & Reporting

Complete accurate and timely incident reports, nightly logs, and shift summaries.

Assist in investigations as directed by leadership, including gathering witness statements and reviewing footage.

Maintain detailed logs of access to sensitive areas, deliveries, and after-hours employee activity.
Team & Property Support

Provide security presence at VIP events, private functions, and deliveries as required.

Support front office and operational teams with guest assistance when needed.

Enforce hotel policies professionally and tactfully with both guests and staff.
Qualifications

Security, law enforcement, or military experience; prior hospitality or luxury hotel experience preferred.

Proven ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.

Strong communication, conflict-resolution, and guest service skills.

Must have a certified Georgia security certificate or successfully obtain certification within 45 days of employment.

CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required (or must obtain within 30 days).

Familiarity with security systems, surveillance equipment, and emergency response protocols.

Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.

Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for long periods, including up and down stairs.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, react quickly in emergencies, and work in various indoor/outdoor conditions.
