Security risk analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Security Risk Analyst to identify, assess, and mitigate potential security risks across our organization. The role involves evaluating IT systems, applications, and business processes to ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements. The Security Risk Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen the company’s risk posture and support a secure business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk assessments and security reviews of systems, applications, and processes.
• Identify vulnerabilities and threats to information assets and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Monitor compliance with internal security policies, frameworks, and industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).
• Develop and maintain risk registers, reports, and metrics for leadership review.
• Support incident response activities by analyzing risks and providing root cause assessments.
• Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business units to integrate security controls.
• Stay up to date with emerging cyber threats, risk methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide security awareness and risk training to employees where necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proven experience (2–4+ years) as a Security Risk Analyst, IT Risk Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks (ISO 27005, NIST RMF, FAIR, etc.).
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, etc.).
• Proficiency in vulnerability assessment tools and techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to document and present risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
