Security Systems Project Lead – Prism Electric

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Project Manager regarding on-site scheduling of work activities and timely delivery of equipment.
  • Runs low voltage cabling to BICSI standards. Lifting, performing repetitive motions, using hand, power tools and working in all types of weather are demands of this position.
  • Responsible for the connection of control panels, power supplies, application requirements, wire concealment, and security software installation
  • Completes all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete and operational according to contract requirements including installation of electric strikes, door position switches, mag locks, card readers and other electronic devices.
  • Troubleshoots security system installations to ensure that they are functioning properly and that they meet local, county, state, and/or federal codes and any licensing and/or insurance requirements.
  • Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned by manager.

Requirements:

  • Able to install and service many different platforms within video surveillance, access control, and intrusion systems.
  • High School Diploma or commensurate experience
  • Five years’ experience in Access Control, Video Surveillance and Alarm Systems
  • PC Proficient
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass drug and background screens.
  • Must have a Texas DPS Private Security License
  • Manufacturer training with ONSSI, Milestone, AXIS, or Brivo is a plus.
  • Must have at least 5 years in the structured cabling industry.
  • Must have an extensive background in copper -Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A, and Coax cable installation, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Must have an extensive background in Fiber Optic OM1, OM3, OM4, and OS2 Single Mode installation, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Must have extensive experience with Fluke DTX-1800, DSX-5000, and DSX-8000 testing equipment.
  • Must have experience with OTDR testing and troubleshooting.
  • Must have experience with MPOE, EF, MDF, and TR buildout.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend drawings.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office.
  • Bluebeam experience is a plus.
  • A self-motivator and carrier-driven is necessary.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to travel when needed.
  • Security (Access Control/Video Surveillance) experience is a plus.
  • Audio Visual experience is a plus.
  • DAS experience is a plus.
  • Paging and Nurse call Experience is a plus.

The job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses always), respirator when required. Able to work 8 -10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts. Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects more than 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required. Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job
