About the Role

As the Seeding team member at GMI, you will perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to contributing positively to the Seeding team by gaining comprehensive knowledge of all mushroom species and their quality standards. You will efficiently seed all production and spawn while adhering to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations. Additionally, you will ensure that the production and spawn processes are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with GMI/Food Safety guidelines. Maintaining accurate tagging and traceability standards throughout the process will also be a key responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and sanitation guidelines.
  • Practice and maintain all safety and Food Safety requirements.
  • Set up and prepare machinery while adhering to sanitation guideline standards.
  • Seed spawn and production meeting quality standards.
  • Operating machinery, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and ensuring optimal machine performance.
  • Process and complete daily paperwork as required.
  • Collaborate with crew members to set up equipment, troubleshoot issues, and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality while adhering to all Paycom, time clock, and PTO procedures.
  • Stacking trays, loading and unloading pallets, inspecting products, and performing quality control checks.
  • Perform manager/supervisor requests as directed.

    • Able to learn all mushroom cultivation and quality standards.

    • Willing to cooperate and change tasks to support department needs.

  • Daily practices of Safety and Food requirements is a MUST
  • Help in other departments when available and directed by supervisor/manager
  • Proper daily paperwork for each sales ticker for traceability
  • Perform all other Manager/supervisor requests

Work Environment/Physical Demand

Able to climb stairs and work 6-8ft above ground. In addition to lifting, bending, and twisting. Lifting requirements of 25+ pounds. Stand for 8 hours or longer in a controlled environment and open warehouse setting while performing repetitive tasks. Able to stand hot temps for small periods when loading or unloading. Arrive to work with a positive and open-to-learning attitude. The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
