Seeking Bartender for an Omakase Restaurant in the East Village neighborhood.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages with precision, flair, and attention to detail, ensuring each guest receives personalized service.
  • Engage with guests to understand their preferences, recommend drinks, and create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances their dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate beverage and food service seamlessly during busy hours or special events like banquets or catering functions.
  • Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and place orders to ensure the bar is fully stocked with quality ingredients.
  • Uphold responsible alcohol service practices, including checking IDs and managing intoxicated guests professionally.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in fine dining environments or high-end restaurants; nightclub or banquet experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Toast; familiarity with cashiering and food handling procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport quickly.
  • Demonstrated time management skills to handle multiple tables or bar stations efficiently during peak hours.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order processing.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques in a hospitality setting.
  • Experience with serving alcohol responsibly, including understanding of legal requirements related to alcohol sales.
