Position Overview

We are seeking experienced, licensed PM&R (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) physicians to join our team as Independent Medical Evaluators for workers’ compensation cases. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in musculoskeletal and functional assessment to conduct comprehensive med-legal evaluations and produce objective, evidence-based reports — with no treatment responsibilities, prescribing, procedures, or ongoing patient management.

As an independent contractor, you maintain full control over your schedule. You may choose to perform evaluations on weekends or outside your primary practice hours, allowing you to supplement your income without interrupting your existing clinical or procedural workload. With access to over 300 evaluation sites across California, you can select the locations and caseload that best align with your availability and convenience.

This is an excellent opportunity for PM&R physicians seeking flexible, high-value, non-treatment work that utilizes their diagnostic and assessment skills in a med-legal setting.

Position Highlights

  • Ultimate Flexibility As an independent contractor, you determine your own workload. Many physicians choose to perform evaluations on weekends or outside clinic hours to avoid interfering with their primary practice. You select when and where you work — with over 300 evaluation sites across California, convenience and autonomy are built in.
  • Evaluation-Focused Role (No Treatment) These are non-treatment medical evaluations for workers’ compensation cases. You will focus on comprehensive assessments, objective documentation, and report writing. No prescribing, follow-up visits, or ongoing patient care.
  • High Earning Potential Internal Medicine physicians typically earn $1,000–$3,000 per hour, depending on caseload and evaluation type. This is an excellent opportunity to supplement your income with flexible, high-value work — without the demands of traditional practice settings.

Enjoy a rewarding role that offers unmatched flexibility and significant earning potential in the med-legal evaluation field. Tailor your work to fit your lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough and impartial medical evaluations for workers' compensation cases.
  • Focus on detailed assessments rather than treatment.
  • Create your own schedule to work around your primary practice or personal commitments.
