Seeking High Energy Afternoon Nanny for boys!

Start: Flexible

Compensation: $45/hour (cash)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (weekend hours available if interested)

Car required

Driving: Required — mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate

About the family: A warm, active, and fun-loving family in Alamo is looking to hire a long-term, part-time nanny to care for two spirited school-aged boys (7 and 9). The parents prioritize structure, kindness, and a playful, energetic approach to after-school time. One child has been diagnosed with ADHD, and the household includes a friendly dog and a couple of kittens, so comfort around pets is essential.

What they need: They are seeking an upbeat, physically active nanny who thrives on movement and can keep pace with two energetic kids. The role centers on hands-on, engaging after-school time that blends structure with high-energy play, outdoor activities, and supportive homework routines.

Primary responsibilities:

- Safely pick up both boys from school and transport them as needed (activities, appointments, playdates).

-Create and lead active, age-appropriate activities: outdoor play, sports, games, and creative movement.

- Prepare healthy snacks and simple meals suitable for school-aged children.

- Supervise and support homework, helping to establish consistent, calming after-school routines that incorporate movement breaks when helpful.

- Handle light childcare-related household tasks (clean up after snacks/meals, load dishwasher, organize backpacks).

- Communicate proactively with parents about the boys’ day, behavior, and any needs.

Ideal candidate:

- Energetic, physically active, and enthusiastic about running, playing, and organizing games and sports with children.

- Comfortable working with an energetic child who has ADHD and skilled at using structure, clear routines, and positive reinforcement.

- Comfortable around pets and able to safely manage a household with a dog and kittens.

- Reliable, warm, and communicative—able to keep parents updated and collaborate on strategies that support the boys.

Qualifications

- Current vaccinations (including COVID‑19) and ability to pass criminal background check (Trustline)

- Valid license and clean driving record

- Proficiency in English

- Strong references from previous families

- Comfortable around pets (dog and kittens)

- Setting boundaries for children.

- Warm, patient, professional, and able to work independently while collaborating with parents

- Strong organizational skills and sound judgment

- Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification preferred
