Job Overview
1 day per week in Woodville and Kountze. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LCDC (Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor), LCDC Intern, or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) to join our behavioral health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA and medical record standards
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing
- Assist in crisis intervention and crisis management to support clients experiencing acute mental health or substance use crises
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans and case management strategies
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly using appropriate medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9, ICD-10), and CPT coding for billing purposes
- Support clients with addiction counseling, behavioral health education, and family or child counseling as needed
- Participate in data collection efforts related to treatment outcomes, research initiatives, and quality improvement projects
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed an accredited program for LPC, LCDC Intern certification, or equivalent licensure pathway
- Demonstrated knowledge of psychotherapy techniques, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and behavioral management strategies
- Experience or familiarity with home & community care settings, hospital environments, or outpatient clinics is preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, medical documentation standards, and ICD coding systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients empathetically while maintaining professional boundaries
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism in crisis management scenarios
- Commitment to ongoing learning in addiction medicine, mental health counseling, and clinical best practices
