Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented NY Litigation Paralegal with a strong knowledge of New York State law as well as expertise in various legal practice areas. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support complex litigation cases, manage legal documents, and collaborate closely with attorneys to ensure efficient case progression. Duties
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial support.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research.
- Manage and review legal documents utilizing document management systems like Filevine, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents including pleadings, contracts, discovery responses, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
- Organize and maintain case files through effective document review, data entry, filing, and record-keeping practices.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for cases involving personal injury law.
- Provide administrative support such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, handling phone inquiries with professional etiquette, and coordinating meetings or court appearances.
- Support project management initiatives by tracking deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks across multiple cases or practice areas.
Experience
- Paralegal experience in a busy law office or litigation environment is required.
- Proven knowledge of New York State law and Florida Law combined with familiarity in practice areas such as personal injury is highly desirable.
- Strong research skills using Westlaw and LexisNexis to locate relevant statutes and case law efficiently.
- Experience with legal case management software including Filevineis preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in document review and data entry tasks.
- Demonstrated proficiency in legal drafting, proofreading, transcription of legal proceedings or dictation is essential.
- Effective communication skills for interviewing clients/witnesses and liaising with attorneys and court personnel.
- Familiarity with administrative tasks such as filing court documents electronically or physically while adhering to strict deadlines. Pay: From $25.00 per hour
