Senior Account Manager

The Senior Account Manager in the manufacturing sector is responsible for managing and expanding key client

accounts, developing long-term relationships with clients, and overseeing sales growth within their assigned

territories or accounts. This role involves a deep understanding of the manufacturing industry, exceptional

customer service skills, and a strategic approach to client management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts.
  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction and uncover potential growth

opportunities.

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing assigned accounts.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).
  • Prepare reports on account status.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans that drive retention and growth.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., production, marketing, R&D) to ensure timely delivery of

solutions according to customer needs and objectives.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify industry trends and opportunities.
  • Keep abreast of competitive activities within accounts and recommend strategies to counteract.
  • Address client issues and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Liaise between clients and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of

solutions.

  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, sales activities, and account strategies.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the status of accounts

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in account management, sales, or a related role within the

manufacturing sector.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of organizational and time management skills.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to exceeding client expectations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to constantly lift, bend, stretch and stand during entire shift.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, and stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motions.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Constant exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans
  • Constant operation of a computer and other office machinery such as calculators, copy machine, etc.
  • Ability to remain in a sitting position for long periods of time
