Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records for precious metals and gemstones from procurement to sale, reconciling inventory, and assisting with audits. The role requires strong accounting software skills, especially Tally, and expertise in areas like valuation due to the volatile prices of precious metals. Core job responsibilities

  • Inventory management: Accurately track raw materials (gold, silver, stones) and finished products, from receiving to sale. This includes managing high-value inventory, which requires precise records and attention to detail.
  • Valuation: Continuously update inventory values based on fluctuating market prices for precious metals and stones.
  • Financial record-keeping: Maintain accurate general ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Data entry: Accurately enter sales, purchase, production, and other related data into the company's systems.
  • Financial reporting: Prepare financial statements, reports, and assist with month-end close processes.
  • Compliance and audits: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements, including timely filing of GST and TDS returns. Assist with internal and external audits.

Key skills and qualifications

  • Software proficiency: Expertise in Tally and other accounting software is crucial. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced features of MS Excel, is also necessary.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, taxation, GST, and TDS is required.
  • Soft skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent organizational abilities are essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience in accounting, with a strong preference for prior experience in the jewelry industry, is highly beneficial.

Additional duties

  • Cost accounting and pricing: Assist in developing pricing strategies for jewelry items.
  • Loss prevention: Be vigilant in identifying discrepancies in inventory that could indicate theft or wastage.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with management and other teams, such as sales, to provide financial insights and support business objectives

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
