Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will manage the complete accounting operations of the trading company, including financial reporting, taxation, payroll processing, compliance, banking, and inventory accounting. The role requires strong expertise in GST, TDS, trading-related accounting, and payroll management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate books of accounts — ledger, journals, trial balance, balance sheet, and P&L.
  • Post daily accounting entries (sales, purchase, receipts, payments, expenses, journals).
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable with timely reconciliation and follow-ups.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of accounts.

2. Bank & Cash Management

  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements and cash books.
  • Handle vendor payments, customer receipts, online transfers, and RTGS/NEFT.
  • Manage LC, OD limits, and other trading-related banking documentation (if applicable).
  • Coordinate with the bank for remittances and financial operations.

3. Taxation (GST, TDS, Income Tax)

  • Manage GST calculation, e-invoice generation, and e-way bill coordination.
  • File GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9).
  • Handle TDS deductions, challans, quarterly returns, and 26AS reconciliation.
  • Support statutory and tax audits with required documentation.

4. Payroll Management

· Process monthly payroll for employees.

  • Prepare salary sheets, payslips, and bank transfer files.
  • Calculate incentives, reimbursements, bonuses, and full & final settlements.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with:
  • PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Bonus, Gratuity
  • File monthly PF/ESIC returns and ensure timely payment of contributions.
  • Maintain employee reimbursement and salary-related records.
  • Coordinate with HR for new joiners, resignations, and payroll updates.

5. Trading & Inventory Accounting

  • Maintain stock registers and inventory valuation.
  • Prepare costing sheets, landed cost, and COGS.
  • Reconcile physical vs book stock periodically.
  • Handle import/export accounting (if applicable).

6. Financial Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare monthly MIS reports including:
  • Sales & purchase summary
  • Profit & loss
  • Cash flow
  • Creditor/Debtor ageing
  • Provide financial insights for management decisions.
  • Assist in budgeting and variance analysis.

7. Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
  • Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with auditors.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all financial activities.

8. Team Leadership

  • Supervise junior accountants.
  • Ensure timely completion of all accounting functions.
  • Implement process improvements for efficient finance operations.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / CA Inter preferred.
  • 5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a trading/distribution company.
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP 9/Prime, Zoho Books, SAP, Busy, or other ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
