Senior Accountant

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong exposure to the gold and diamond jewellery industry and a clear understanding of Jewellery sales operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, inventory accounting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and oversee complete accounting functions for gold and diamond jewellery operations
• Handle sales accounting, including invoicing, revenue recognition, and reconciliation with POS systems
• Manage inventory accounting for gold, diamonds, and jewellery items, including weight, purity, wastage, and valuation
• Monitor stock movement, pricing, and margins in coordination with sales and store teams
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer ledgers
• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and other statutory requirements
• Coordinate with auditors and support internal and external audits
• Control costs, monitor expenses, and analyse profitability by product and outlet
• Support management with financial analysis and decision-making reports

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in the Jewellery (gold and diamond) industry
• Strong knowledge of Jewellery inventory management and sales accounting
• Familiarity with ERP / accounting software used in Jewellery businesses
• Good understanding of VAT and financial compliance
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in retail and wholesale Jewellery operations
• Strong coordination skills with sales, inventory, and management teams
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
