Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong exposure to the gold and diamond jewellery industry and a clear understanding of Jewellery sales operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, inventory accounting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and oversee complete accounting functions for gold and diamond jewellery operations
- Handle sales accounting, including invoicing, revenue recognition, and reconciliation with POS systems
- Manage inventory accounting for gold, diamonds, and jewellery items, including weight, purity, wastage, and valuation
- Monitor stock movement, pricing, and margins in coordination with sales and store teams
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer ledgers
- Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and other statutory requirements
- Coordinate with auditors and support internal and external audits
- Control costs, monitor expenses, and analyse profitability by product and outlet
- Support management with financial analysis and decision-making reports
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in the Jewellery (gold and diamond) industry
- Strong knowledge of Jewellery inventory management and sales accounting
- Familiarity with ERP / accounting software used in Jewellery businesses
- Good understanding of VAT and financial compliance
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in retail and wholesale Jewellery operations
- Strong coordination skills with sales, inventory, and management teams
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
