ole Overview:
The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This position is crucial for providing reliable financial information that supports strategic decision-making and the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of annual audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support business operations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial analysis and support.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Proven understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications/Good to Have:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or pursuing certification.
- Experience with financial reporting systems.
