Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with IFRS / GAAP and Qatar regulations
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities
• Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and balance sheet accounts

2. Project & Cost Accounting

• Monitor project budgets, track project costs, and analyze variances
• Maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
• Handle percentage-of-completion accounting
• Coordinate with project managers for cost forecasting and financial control
• Manage subcontractor billing, retention accounting, and milestone payments
• Oversee CAPEX accounting for plant & machinery

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Supervise vendor payments and customer billing processes
• Review contract terms and ensure accurate invoicing
• Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding balances

4. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare financial analysis reports for management
• Conduct cost-benefit analysis and financial forecasting
• Support budgeting and annual financial planning
• Work closely with Top Management for reporting and strategic decisions

5. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Implement and maintain internal financial controls
• Assist in ERP implementation and financial system improvements (SAP / Oracle preferred)

6. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Maintain proper financial documentation for audits and compliance

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 8 - 10 years of experience in Construction, Oil & Gas, Contracting or Power Plant industry
• Managerial / supervisory experience in accounting or finance roles preferred
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, cost control, and EPC project accounting
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Salary & Benefits:

• QAR 7,000 – 8,000 (depending on experience)
• Additional benefits as per company policy
