Senior Accountant

We are a fast-growing startup operating in the Trading sector , with a strong focus on FMCG and F&B products. The company is building scalable finance and control processes and is looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant who can support growth, ensure compliance, and strengthen financial discipline.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting operations (AP, AR, GL entries)
• Review and validate supporting documentation prior to processing payments
• Oversee vendor payments, reconciliations, and follow-ups
• Perform and review bank, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Monitor stock movements, AR ageing, and internal financial controls
• Lead monthly closing activities and support preparation of financial statements and MIS reports
• Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT regulations , including timely filing and audits support
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives
• Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities
• Provide guidance and review work of junior accounting staff (if applicable)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA / ACCA is an advantage)
• 5–7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and month-end/year-end closing
• Proven experience with UAE VAT compliance and filings
• Solid understanding of financial reporting and internal controls
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP/accounting systems
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills for interaction with auditors, banks, and management
