Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a well-experienced Senior Accountant with supermarket or retail industry experience to manage daily accounting operations, financial reporting, inventory control, and compliance. The candidate should have strong knowledge of supermarket accounting, including stock management, supplier reconciliation, cash handling, VAT, and month-end closing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle complete accounting operations of the supermarket.
  • Maintain general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Monitor supermarket sales, cash collections, and bank deposits.
  • Reconcile POS sales, cash, card, online payments, and petty cash.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Verify supplier invoices and prepare supplier payment schedules.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory movement, stock valuation, shrinkage, wastage, and expired items.
  • Coordinate with store and warehouse teams for stock verification.
  • Prepare monthly stock adjustment and inventory reports.
  • Handle payroll entries, staff advances, and leave settlements if required.
  • Prepare VAT reports and ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing.
  • Prepare profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
  • Support external and internal auditors during audits.
  • Ensure all accounting records are accurate and maintained properly.
  • Develop and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per hour
